  1. I agree with you. At the same time I have to wonder if all this government assistance is available, why is she begging on the street? Scam? Ignorance?

Love this! And agree with momof3!

I also would pay someone who is begging and in need to come work around my house for a day to make some money. I do not believe in money for nothing. It is a sad thing that this cannot be done like in years past. Too many issues to face. If they get hurt, they will surely sue. Cannot pay someone to work and not "employ" them and take taxes. Cannot trust people to work unsupervised. Etc....

  2. Oh good grief - you realize we are talking about someone on the street begging for spare change, right?

Even those who take what little they get and buy a pint of liquor instead of an artery-clogging hamburger or pack of peanut butter crackers aren't scamming. They're doing what they have to in order to get by...not everybody needs the same things.

If you had to sleep on the ground in the same clothes you wore yesterday & the day before, you'd probably rather have booze for instead of in addition to dinner, too.

How pro-life can someone be who cites "scammers' as a reason to withhold the cost of a cup of coffee or soda when confronted by someone in need?

If this was true, all of us should be begging for change on the corner. There are people who truly are in need and there are those that need things they want. Need and want are 2 different things. You do not need booze. You need food. You do not need Starbucks. You want it and to ask people for your want is just wrong. In the last thread (that this was spun off from), someone witnessed this very thing. Someone begging to be in need but they really just wanted a coffee and were seen buying one with the change they just begged for. I want a top notch education to Yale for my kids. Instead, they need clothing and love and will get it. That is the difference and why so many people hesitate to give to those that beg.

  4. They came out and put a table topper on for me and they were great!!! Delivered a day earlier than they said and they were very professional! I would use them again and again (but I only have one table :pardon: )

  5. OK: for us it is a little different, but here is my file check list:

    □ DOT Physical Card

    □ Copy of Driver’s License

    □ Blank Voided Check to set up Direct Deposit

    □ Signed Employee Handbook Receipt

    □ Signed Offer of Employment Letter

    □ Completed G-4

    □ Completed W-4

    □ Completed Form I-9

    □ E-Verify Confirmation

If you want to do it legal, you have to take taxes and your company has to match. Let me know what other questions you have and GOOD LUCK!!

  6. I was so moved by watching this and am a little upset that this is already "old news" on p.com. Found it on page 5. Spc. King's duty was cut short, now it is our duty to help keep in rememberance what he did for all of us.

  7. Thanks for your reply. My husband used to work for 84 Lumber and they had 84 Lumber houses. They had the plans and you'd go in and say I want this house and you'd get everything. We thought this was what people meant when they said we had a "Home Depot House". Now I have no idea where to get plans. The county doesn't keep plans on file in Paulding.

  8. I process our company's payroll and it is thru Wachovia. No problems here. I cut it on Thursday and it is in our guys account that day (if they have a Wachovia account) or the following day if they are elsewhere.

  9. Thanks everyone so far for the replies! I really appreciate the feedback. I know I can change doctors no problem, so that isn't an issue. I also know my doctor won't come this far to deliver, so I have to switch to deliver there. I will make a decision in the next couple of days. I have an appointment on Wed. and will talk to my current doctor then.

  10. Have any p.commers delivered a baby at the new Tanner facility in Villa Rica? I am thinking of switching there from Northside Cherokee, due to the distance, but don't know much about it, other than it is new and small. I am almost 29 weeks and have a 13 month old. The thought of continued drives to Woodstock for appoitments (which will only become more frequent) and the delivery WAY up there have me a little scared. Please share any insight you might have. Thanks!

  11. Can I say without you hating me (especially since you don't even know me)...I HATE YOU!! I don't have a cute prego belly at all and I am almost into my 28th week. I am so jealous!! I still just look FAT and not pregnant!
