USAF, 1 tour active duty with 1 trip to the sandbox.
Trying to go back. I miss the military very, very, much. I do not like being a civilian. The civilian world is much more dangerous

Active Duty USAF 18 years, now Stationed just 4 hours down the road. I deploy to the sand box this coming THursday for an all expense paid / 120 night at an luxurious small portable trailer that I have to share with another guy whom I have yet to meet.
I hope he dont smell like ass or feet........

There was a whole bunch of them. We had a discussion about it and they all said the same thing.

When I started teaching a number of years ago (won't say how many)
it was in the contract that you shouldn't be seen drinking or even buying it at a store.let me raise that bullcheeze flag and salute it
i would have signed it and went straight to the package store

Just some quick questions. What friggin' country is this? Why is this a discussion? Should politicians and television "preachers" be allowed near women? What bubble of bull@#%& do most of you live in?
There's war raging, diseases, genocide, the planet's in danger, hell dogs and cats are even living together and there's a discussion about teachers drinking? Anyone posting previously show me your PTSA card or volunteer award at school - c ause I'll show mine. Discuss an issue, not crap.

Teacher's religion, race, sexual orientation, politics, etc., etc., should have NO BEARING on whether or not they are a good teacher. As long as they follow the guidelines/ethics they are suppose to follow, and teach the curriculum at hand, then I could care less about any of the above.

I think as long as something you are doing doesn't affect your job it doesn't matter. Teachers probably need a drink more than any of us. It's like when someone on here was complaining about some teachers being "witches". As long as they don't teach it to the kids I really don't care.
...and while we are on this subject, anyone out there reading this that likes to report my every move, I am off today, so don't feel the need to tell anyone I am playing on the Internet at work

Go to another county if you are that concerned. You are a teacher, you were having a drink. I don't see what the hugh deal is. Now if you acting like a fool then there would be an issue. But being with people having a drink......sorry I don't get it. But, then again, some of these judgemental idiots might take the opportunity to make trouble for you. From what I've seen and heard there are some folks who really "get off" on making trouble for other undeserving folks. So, like I said, go to another county.yeah, maybe its not that easy
and yes alot of those people are on here

Yep, and I don't think being out on their own personal time, as an adult, without students, not on school property nor at a school function, doing nothing illegal, should be anyone's business but their own.

I was out last night with some good friends and ran into some other friends. Well as I was standing there talking, one of them started ducking behind me. So I looked at them and said WTH? It was explained to me that they were afraid of having their picture taken at a bar and it be posted online. I asked them what were they worried about because they were just standing there drinking a beverage and listenig to great band and talking to everyone. They insisted that if people knew they were "out" they could loose their jobs.
These people are teachers.
1. At what point can a person be there own person and enjoy te same freedoms we all do?
2. Ever thought it might be your kid that drives them to drinking?

Oh it was an old thread a few weeks ago..Talking about Gays in the military. Someone that had obviously never served said if they let Gays shower with you they might as well let Men and Women shower together too.

Nope......
I wouldn't do it. I would ride the market and save gas when I can.
I would run electric heaters in the bedrooms at night. that helped out during the cold months.

to be quite honest here, you should really just mind your own business.
The caviot to that, if you seen said dude out in public with questionable companion......You could totally make it known that you seen him. You know.....go up to him and say hey or yell his name and wave.
