  1. I am an LPN and work for a physician's group that only hires LPN's and RN's. They will not hire MA's as they require someone with a license to perform treatments. We have mostly LPN's - cheaper than RN's. As a matter of fact, our clinical manager is an LPN. I've been out here for a while, and there is still market for LPN's, although not so much on the hospital front anymore. Some physician's groups won't even allow MA's to give shots, as the liability goes under their license. I also happen to know three LPN's that are practice managers and are making a very nice salary.

  4. Gee, and spring break has only just begun!

Yeah, they're off to a REAL good start. <_< I don't know what they were up to, but the muffler was dragging under the car when he passed us. They went down the hill going pretty fast. They're just lucky they lived to get out of the car.

  5. Suspect was let in to a home to use the phone,he is now in custody.

Glad to hear it. Don't think they were armed and dangerous - looked like young kids, but my daughter's friends were alone at home across the street from the school.

  6. We were almost rear-ended by PCSD chasing a small black Chevrolet on Hwy 92 in Hiram about 11. Two units were in pursuit of the car, which tried to make a turn onto Williams Lake Road. They missed the turn and went down an embankment on the other side of the intersection. We were turning there as well to pick up my daughter, and saw two young kids get out of the car with their hands up. They were lying on the ground when we came back through, and HIram Police had arrived. We were stopped and told one person in the car had escaped in the woods adjacent to Dobbins Middle School. They are looking for a black male wearing a white T-shirt. As far as we know, he hasn't been caught. The police were patrolling the school parking lot, though.

  7. I went to Ansley for the first time last Saturday to have my cut and color done. She is so awesome! I lost my other stylist, and Ansley came highly recommended. I am so happy with my hair, and Ansley, if you read this - my fiance loves it!!! I know I told you I'd let you know - sorry it took so long. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair from my friends. Ansley is a sweetheart, and I'll be a repeat client for sure! :D :D :D

  8. I am a school nurse in Cobb and it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Just wondering, though...........in Paulding, so the schools "share" nurses? I am assigned to one school myself. I also wonder about the salary over here........

  9. Need recommendations of ob/gyn doctors in Hiram, Douglasville or Austell area. Actually, don't need the ob services. Prefer a woman doctor. TIA!

I can't say enough about Dr. Nanette Cook - she does come to the Hiram office on specific days, if that's more convenient. Anyway, she is the absolute best, and I love her staff.

  10. We have three beautiful kittens, 11 weeks old, that need a loving home. One is a fluffy black and orange calico female, the other two are gray tabbies, one male and one female. They are very sweet kitties, and have been loved to pieces by my two children, but we already have three adult cats and are in the process of finding a new home for our family, so we can't keep them. If interested, please call 770-439-1769 (Hiram). I will try and get a picture on here, but take my word - these kittens will make wonderful pets!

  11. I have had all 3 of my girls ortho done by Dr. Justice. They were wonderful and my girls teeth look great. I put all 3 of mine in at one time so I paid a lot but I think it was about 4-5 K each.

Indeed! I can at least buy a little time and have a breather before I start on my second one!

Looks like I've got some good ones to choose from! I'm still relatively new around here, and this is a "big-bucks" decision. I'll shop and compare. Again, I appreciate the response. Yall are the best.

  12. My son is 11 and I took him for an orthodontic consult in Powder Springs last week. He has an overbite - nothing extreme, but it needs correcting. I got a quote of $4,700.00 for 20 months of orthodontia. I have insurance, but true to form with dental insurance, it only pays $500.00 for braces. I appreciate what I can get, but that contribution is like someone urinating in the ocean!

I've asked around, and while everyone seems to think this rate is too high, I have not gotten any feedback on any other orthodontists locally. I don't want to scrimp on this, but as a single mom, I'm not exactly rolling in money at the moment. I'd be grateful for any suggestions anyone can give me. This is very important, as my daughter, who is 10, will be needing braces next year, as well.
