  1. Call the Sheriff's Department and get deputies out there when he is riding the bike. We had to do this in our neighborhood with teens on four-wheelers. If they get him twice, maybe he or the parents will be ticketed.

You can tell its summertime....parents turn their teens loose on the nieghborhood. There is a teenage boy in my neighborhood that is apparently unsupervised every afternoon during school and during the day in the summer. He SCREAMS up and down the streets on a dirt bike that sounds like a pack of VERY LOUD bees. he does wheelies driving from my house to the end of the street or in the other direction into the curve. The same curve that people fly around on the wrong side of the road. He very rarely wears a helmet or protective gear. He started screaming in the new "high dollar" neighborhood on the street an I guess they won't take it. Last week he was pulled over by a cop and I think his parents or someone was called to come & get him/his bike. Now today he's at it again. Why do parents allow this to happen?

As usual, you people are all experts. I'm going to Wal-mart!!

The People's Republic of China thanks you for your continued support !

And where do you shop? I'm sure it's somewhere where everything is made right here in the good ole United State of America. AT least as an American citizen I can shop anywhere I darn well please and be proud of it!

    Indeed!

    Lesley,

Where do you shop? I'm sure it's the same place as Mrs. Howard, where everything is American made. Actually, your idea of what Wal-Mart should do is right out of communist China!

I hate to break this to you but Walmart dropped that claim of "American Made" a long time ago. Most everything now is imported from either China or Taiwan. Go and read labels.

  3. Have you tried Pro Sports?

I have 2 kids on the same tee-ball team and they have a game tonight. Of course I can only find 3 out 4 socks. I have looked EVERYWHERE...and now I need a pair of orange socks. I went to the uniform shop in Rockmart where they got the uniforms, and they don't have any in stock.

Anyone know some uniform shops I could call or stores that you've seen orange socks in?

  4. Call me crazy but I hate high waisted jeans. Nothing says mom pants like your jeans hiked up to your arm pits. Now, I don't like the ultra low waisted jeans but I do like them sitting right under my belly button.

  5. I do know what it takes but I take issue with you and your "tone" with me. I agree with the other fellow. You know nothing about me yet you feel like it is your place to insult me and my feelings about the game and the refs. Your arrogance astounds me and you won't let it go. Wait, one minute you criticize me for challenging the ref's call thinking I was just bitchin' and moanin'. Then, when I state my previous experience giving me the background to make said remarks, you tell me to get certified. I am done with you. I hope I don't see you criticize anything on this board or I will give you to same insulting and arrogant treatment. Good day.

Garland, with your experience, you should know what it takes to get certified.  Check with the GHSA if you are interested.  Didn't you say that you used to ref?  You should be familiar with the procedure/course/testing.

  6. Wow, you are a card. You make it seem like I can just show up at the administration building and "get certified." You seem like one of those experts in the stands.

Wasn't at the game, but I do get to experience the "experts in the stands" all too often.  I still say both of you should get certified and get out there to give the kids a top quality ref job.

  7. What kind of comment is that? Is this the NFL when you can't comment on the refs without garnishing a fine? Just because the refs stink, which they have ALL year, doesn't mean people can't comment about them.

But, back to your crass and uncalled for comment, I did ref middle school games back when it was Douglas and Paulding counties. So, I think I can state without a doubt that the refs that work the current middle school games leave much to be desired. Does that answer you? Anything else?

Looks like we have our first two members signing up for ref certification class, right?

  8. Quite honestly, I thought the refs handed Jones the game at the end. Not to call a foul or a jump ball with 6 seconds was just too much for me.

    TIGERS: 38

    RAIDERS: 37

Hats off to both teams on an exciting championship game!  I've been living in Dallas, GA for almost 8 years now, and this game was one of the most exciting & competitive games I've ever seen in this county!

I also thought that it was wonderful to see all of the supporting fans!  I know it meant alot to the players & coaches!

Looking forward to next year's season! :D

Also, congratulations to our 8th grade girls & boys teams for receiving runner-up trophies in the championships!  To come from being the #4 seeds headed into the tournamnets, to appearances in the championship games, is an accomplishment to be very proud of!

Congratulations CODY(8th grade boys) for being selected to the All-Tournament Team! ;)

  9. Plus, the NFL stated that the games was properly officiated.

This article kind of puts it into perspective.

Turns out Mike Holmgren lost respect, as well as the NFL championship at Super Bowl XL by insisting that officiating was a factor in the Seahawks' 21-10 loss to the Steelers.

    Holmgren's better than that.

As a veteran NFL coach, he at least ought to be held to a higher standard.

Sadly, Holmgren pointed the finger instead of the thumb.

That's not the message he should be sending -- or one his players should be receiving.

"We knew it was going to be tough against the Pittsburgh Steelers," Holmgren said. "I didn't know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well."

He also insisted, "Penalties, as much as anything, were the story of the game, and that's unfortunate. It might be the first time I've said that in my entire life."

Here's hoping it's also the last.

Yes, there were some controversial decisions, as there seemingly always are in every NFL game.

But the only one that wasn't a judgment call was the low block penalty called against Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on his tackle of cornerback Ike Taylor following a fourth-quarter interception.

Referee Bill Leavy's crew blew that call.

On the others, due process was followed.

Conversely, it's funny how no one in the Seattle camp is bemoaning the incomplete call on the third-and-2 pass tight end Jerramy Stevens clearly caught in Steelers' territory before being popped by free safety Chris Hope and fumbling.

The Steelers were denied a recovery and potential return.

Not that anyone's complaining about that.

There's also a lack of angst over the flag for offensive pass interference thrown at Steelers tight end Heath Miller late in the second quarter. That turned a third-and-5 at the Seahawks 17-yard line into a second-and-20 at the Seattle 32.

The Steelers overcame their bad break and scored a TD, anyway.

What stopped the Seahawks from doing the same?

    It wasn't the zebras.

    No, the Seahawks lost because:

    ·  Strong safety Michael Boulware whiffed on a clean shot at running back Willie Parker on Parker's record-setting 75-yard TD run.

    ·  Kicker Josh Brown missed 50- and 54-yard field goal attempts (accuracy rather than distance was the issue in both instances).

    ·  Stevens repeatedly dropped critical passes.

    ·  The Seahawks' vaunted offensive line lost the battle of the trenches.

    ·  Punter Tom Rouen (and cornerback Jordan Babineaux) couldn't pin the Steelers deep once.

    ·  Fullback Mack Strong (on a third-and-3 reception) and wide receiver Darrell Jackson (trying to get his feet in bounds) were too often more nonchalant than possessed in their efforts.

    ·  The Seahawks' defense got suckered on a 43-yard gadget for a TD.

Holmgren should bring all that up the next time there's a get-together at Qwest Field.

And he should bring a team as schooled in responding to adversity as the Steelers to his next Super Bowl.
