  1. I went to see Hostel with my husband this weekend. We enjoyed it (not the best associated with Quentin, BTW). After about 30 minutes, two people left. They didn't leave because of graphic violence..., but because of the nudity! There hadn't been any violence yet! I've read many other comments on this board and on another movie board I frequent and find it amazing that viewers were more offended by boobs than human torture. Besides, the graphic nudity is there for a reason. The graphic violence in the film mimics the scences of nudity in the beginning. *spoiler alert* The brothels in the beginning mimic the torture chambers in the end. Both the beginning and the end of the movie relate to or point out the deprivation of unchecked sexual gratification. Neither is pleasant to look at..., however, I was much more bothered by the scenes of torture. As a liberal arts major in college, I guess I don't understand the disgust some people have with images of the human body, whether of a sexual nature or not.

  2. Please put more info on this topic.

My daughter goes there as well.

There have been many occurences that have made me VERY

    uneasy about letting her go.

I know it is not just this school though.

These days it seems much worse than when I was in school.

There were beatings every now and then...but... there was definately

    something done about it!!!!!!!!!

If it was that bad the child should be put in Matthews at the least.

I have been to the school on many different occassions and I am not shocked

    at all.

I have seen MANY things that just would not fly when I was in school.

I think homeschooling will definately keep rising up.

Here's an idea..., how about bring back out of school suspension! ISS is a load of crapola! It does NOTHING! The parents of these out of control individuals need to deal with them at home..., I bet there wouldn't be nearly the amount of teacher disrespect and student violence! Thanks to NCLB, student attendance is part of "grading" a school's success..., therefore, administration, the board of ed., etc. are afraid to send these kids home. It will effect their numbers! My husband is a middle school teacher, and I think it's sick the way students disrespect him and his students. You should hear the stories he tells me on a daily basis! He is seriously considering going into another field of work even though he is an award winning teacher!

  3. First of all, I am terribly upset that someone in this community could do something so atrocious to your pet. Animal cruelty makes me physically sick. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Secondly, I had no idea we had such a diverse religious population in Paulding. I was under the close-minded assumption that I was alone in my beliefs. I'm glad I can feel I just haven't met other like-minded people. I do not believe in organized religion, but have a strong sense of spiritual health and a need to learn and grow spiritually.

Thank you for sharing your beliefs.

Sadly, and this is the premise of this thread, we all (even the most strong) have an underlying need to feel like we belong and are liked by others.

    I'm one step closer.

  4. I live in Cross Pointe subdivision off of Poole Bridge Road. Last year many cars were broken into by some punks that live on Poole Bridge. They were breaking into unlocked cars. Cigs, money, CDs, medicine, and needles were taken. Reports were filed and I believe they found the person responsible. He was put on house arrest and had to wear an ankle bracelet. I have seen this said individual walking up and down Poole Bridge Road again without his bracelet this month. I hope he is not up to his old tricks again.

  5. I just can't get my head around what has happened to the cities and the people on the coast, esp. New Orleans. I can't even imagine what it must be like. Where are the temporary tent cities? We need to get on this before more lives are lost needlessly. As far as the looting...., please people..., understand that they are under such horrible conditions that they are at their wits end. I can't sit here at my computer, in a cozy chair, drinking cool sweet tea, in air conditioning and judge others for their choices and neither should you.
