  1. I live in the Cross Pointe subdivision off of Poole Bridge Rd at Ridge. I saw a dog matching this description today at about 6:00. She was VERY skinny and timid. I called to her, but she tucked her tail tightly and walked away from me. I moved my position and tried again, but she just wouldn't come. She changed direction and went behind a house heading south on Poole Bridge Rd. I really hope you find your dog. If she is the one I saw today, I hope you find her soon.

  2. I would love to take them..., but I have a lone male rattie right now. He is just getting over the loss of his best friend (his brother rat) and is getting over a respiratory infection.

    Good luck!

Note to others: Rats are excellent pets...especially for families. They do not bite, can be trained to come when their name is called, and they don't have that musky smell ferrets can have.

  3. Here's an idea: LEAVE THE SPIDERS ALONE. If you took some time to do the research to ease you fears instead of feeding into your phobia you would realize spiders are not only great predators to other creatures that are much more dangerous to humans (mosquitos, for example), they are also fascinating creatures of habit. How about, respect the spider as another living creature in this world? BTW...I'm not sure why you must feel so helpless and afraid of a spider in the first place...you are much larger and menacing than a tiny arachnid. Yeah, yeah, some are poisonous to people. However, the ones pictured here and the ones described so far are NOT poisonous to humans and are, indeed, helpful.

  4. I am going to leave in just a minute to check on the food. My only concern is that there was a teenage boy walking down the road near the church when I left the food. I hate that I can't feel safe in my own neighborhood.

The skinniest dog was nowhere to be seen. The other dog was there. I moved the food to a tree in the church yard. Someone else had left water and an open bag of dry food at the foot of the tree as well. I can sleep a little more easy tonight know they have food and drink for tonight.

  5. Thank you for putting some more food out for them. Ash tried and it seems some VERY cold hearted person took it away from them. I sure hope they can make it through this cold wet and windy night. Now I am saddened to hear that there are two dogs.

  6. There are a couple of posts on here concerning this. It was not a break in. A man stabbed his wife and then fled on foot. They were searching for him. He stole a car from Scott's store and possibly a second one from HJMS. I don't know if they ever found him. The wife was in he hospital last I heard, but is going to be OK

I didn't know how to go about searching the topic, so I'm sorry if the question was a little redundent! Thank you for the information. I was mostly curious to find out if it was a random act of violence, or something domestic. I'm glad the wife is doing well, and I hope they catch the perb.

  7. Does anyone know anything about a home break-in and stabbing on Thorn Thicket Dr. in that big subdivision near Rockmart? It's near where Dude's restaurant was in Yorkville. I saw several police cars, crime tape, and officers carrying shotguns yesterday. My mother lives in that cul-de-sac and she's really frightened.

    I'd really appreciate any information!

  8. A baby house sparrow has fallen out of it's nest. Problem is, the nest is in the duct work of my attic and there is no way to return it. I've tried putting it in a hanging pot with a make-shift nest hoping the mother would find it and continue to feed it. She keeps circling, but isn't landing on the hanging pot. And, a couple of neighborhood cats have located the hanging basket! I can't get it high enough away from the ground, so I'm stuck! I've already found a website to care for orphaned sparrows (it's about 10 days old), so I can run to the store and purchase what I need to replace it's normal diet of insects. However, it will require much more care that I can give starting the work week. Does anyone know of a wildlife rehabiliation group located in Paulding County? I need to find some help by Monday!

    I'd appreciate any information!

    Thanks!

  9. My cat has been missing for a day and a half now. I'm very worried, because she has never left the yard. She comes in for most of the day and only ventures out of doors when me and my husband are home. I have a gut instinct that something isn't right. I live off of Poole Bridge Road in the Cross Pointe Subdivision. Her name is Penelope, but we call her "Pen" for short. She is a very fluffy gray and white cat with green eyes. She doesn't have a collar (she hated to wear one). She was abused when she was a kitten, so the very tip of her tail is broken. I took her in 3 years ago, and she is a sweet cat (she just needed some TLC). I miss her very much and would appreciate any information.

If I don't find her tonight, I will visit the animal shelter tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, someone will have information.

    Thanks for your help.... :(

  10. I'm so sorry to hear that about Dude's. It was an awesome dive to visit. One of the last of it's kind in Paulding. Between Dude's and Top of the Ridge..., I'm very depressed! Where am I going to find those awesome catfish filets with all the fixin's!
