  1. That is funny..she told me later last night that she had talked to him. We should already be there when he goes on. My hubby is also driving the shuttle bus some today, so we will be there ALL DAY.

My niece is Abbie/Paulding Co. High. I hope to see you there. I will be the one with the camera hanging around my neck. I am going to be taking pics all day.

  2. I hope to get back down there at 6:00 to hear the Old Paths and I would love to hear Sold Out.

The name reminds me of a Michael Combs song Wade does, "Not For Sale". It is one of my favorites!!!

This is a great event and I hope there is a really good turn-out. The weather is supposed to be nice and beautiful!

Hope ya'll will come out to hear Wade at 12:45. I am really proud, too!!!

Wade is friends with my daughter..one of the ones in Sold Out. You may remember her also, they went to pre-k together and middle school..Her name is Hillary B. Tell him to stay and hear them. He went to the prom with my niece last year also. I should be there by the time Wade sings.

Oh and I also love the song "Not For Sale". Can't wait to hear him sing again.

  3. My daughter is in a group called "Sold Out". They are a Christian group and will be singing at 7:00 p.m. I am so proud of them! Everyone please come out and support this worthy cause and if you have not heard about what happened to Brandon Wroe, please go to www.safegeorgia.org and click on the Spring Fling link and then click on the Brandon Wroe link and watch the video. He was only 12 years old. This is so heart-breaking and every parent needs to be aware of this and our children needs to be aware of the dangers of it.

  4. I just sent him Birthday wishes!! I hope he gets well soon. Did you know that Alicia's (my sister) brother-n-law was at the same place as him when they first left in October, I think it was? I don't know if they know each other or not though. I did not know Michael's last name to ask him if he knew him.

  5. Gina Collins

She is real near you, too.

I also recommend Gina..My daughter is taking Piano lessons from her and she is also her voice coach. She is learning alot from her.

  6. I photograph around 50 weddings a year (I have three this week!!) and my two lens I use the most are the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS (I use this one mainly for the ceremony and for single portraits of the bride and groom.) and the 24-70 f/2.8L for any wide angle shots, group portraits, and just general photography. I keep the 24-70 on my camera for probably 8 0% of the time.

Other specialty lens I use throughout the day are:

Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro (for ring and detail pictures)

Canon 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye for cool super-wide angle pictures

Canon 85mm f/1.8 (great prime lens for portraits)

Canon 35mm f/2.0 (another great prime lens, I normally use this one for the reception)

One thing you will find is when you start getting into the "good lenses" (ie, any of the pro L-Series lenses) you should expect to spend a pretty penny in exchange for the quality you are going to get out of the lens. It is much better to pay the price for a good lens than purchase several crappy lenses that you are going to have to upgrade later. You have to have the lowest aperture possible in order to be able to function in low-light situations, that is what you are paying for.

I rented the 70-200 for almost a year before I broke down and paid the $2,200 for it. They are not cheap, but they are definitely worth it.

As for my advice, you really need a wide-angle lens and a nice telephoto (or zoom) lens. Those both work hand in hand and I could not shoot a wedding without both of them.

Thanks everyone for the advice.. I really appreciate it.

Atlanta Rock...Where do you rent lenses from?

This is my Brother-n-Law on my Husband's side of the family. He was such a good man. I have never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. He will be missed by so many.

I know you are in the arms of Jesus now. Rest in peace Dexter...We love you. :(

  8. Hey Thoughts..My son was the one that was the big blow up deer. You went out of your way to give him some candy when he really was not Trick or Treating..He was just making his Mama happy by dressing up and going with our group. I love Halloween. I also got a good pic of you. I am having problems getting it uploaded though..I'll try again tomorrow. I am calling it a night.

  9. I looked and did not see it on the website, but I called them and got the info. It actually starts next Tuesday, October 28.

It is at West Ridge in the Childrens Theatre and starts at 7:00 and ends @ 8:30. It is a 6 week program. I think she says it ends on December 9th.

Their # is 770-222-2125 and she said that Jeff Bell is the one handling this.

    I hope this helps!!

  10. IF you are a parent with a child who has ADHD, can you please pm me. I have some questions.

    TIA

I don't know exactly what you are needing...but I will let you or anyone else that knows someone with ADD/ADHD that West Ridge Church is having a class for anyone with this. I think it starts around the 1st week of November. They are signing up now. I'm going to get the info for my Niece..her son is on medication for it.

  11. There was an issue there Saturday night, but they took care of it quickly. I was very close to the action...It made me uneasy for a minute because there was the mention of a gun, but the Cobb County SO handled it very well. As far as I know a gun was never found. They are constantly profiling the groups that are walking around, stepping in if needed. I was very proud of their quick response to the problem. Try not to let that scare you bad enough where you will not go have fun...just like anywhere else, keep a close eye around you and report any suspicious person or activity to a police officer or staff. Go out and have fun!!!

  12. My 18 year old daughter just joined a Southern Gospel band and the band is going to go record in Nashville next month and may get signed. She will be lead/back up. I have always known that this day would come, just didn't think it would be this fast. She is a Senior in High School. They already have alot of dates on the calendar to perform. They are suppose to open for the Crabbe Family in January in Rome, Ga. I am so excited for her!! She is doing what she loves and is very blessed to be good at it.
