  1. we stayed at the Pop Century Resort when we went last June. it is SOOOOO nice, very Disney, but not very expensive at all. the rooms are a good size and clean, the property is great, you hardly know the parking lot is just outside the door.

best of all, if you stay at the Disney resorts, Disney will haul you back and forth from park to park and to and from the hotel for FREE. i loved the whole not having to drive thing, i felt like i was actually on vacation (NO TRAFFIC).

I highly recommend using a travel agent to help you plan everything. the agent we used was great and got us a ton of great deals, plus she gave us some great guides on how to home around in the various parks. she called it an itenerary, but, it was much more of a general guideline. call it more of a set of suggestions on how to avoid crowds and lines.

pm me if you want her email info.

  2. Very loud, very crowded but loads of fun. I also was a judge for a few years (kids division, SO much more fun than the adult ones).

As somebody else said, grab a room at the hotel, just to get away from the craziness that goes on.

  3. nope, first you arrest them then the suicide bombers should be allowed to do there thing. just let them blow themselves up along with some empty field. they get what they want, they get to be blown to smithereens and some farmer gets a lot of soil turned in his field.

  4. I make the LOOOONNNNGGGGG commute to Alpharetta every day. I've been looking for a carpool for quite some time. I know about 3 different routes, but they all have their challenges, and an average commute time is 2 hours from Ridge Rd in South Paulding to Old Milton Pkwy in Alpharetta. This morning, probably because of the weather, it took 2 hours 20 minutes. If you do end up taking the job, let me know if you are interested in carpooling!

B-Dub, where in Alpharetta, and where do you live in Paulding County? What industry?

My wife does the New Hope to Old Milton commute 2 days a week. Her trip times arent to terribly bad, about an hour or so each way, but then she leaves the house between 5 and 515 in the morning and is on the way back around 3.

  5. I need some input or maybe a point in the right direction. My brother passed away and he had alot of comic books. I mean alot, he collected them for as long as I can remember. I have probably about 10 boxes(copy paper boxes) full. I never knew there were so many different kinds of comic books. He has like whole series...1 thru 190 in some of the spiderman, and different ones. Some of the oldest ones are 1967 that cost only 5 cents.

If I wanted to sell them or some of them I'm scared of getting ripped off because I know nothing about it. If anyone knows anything or has any suggestions, I sure would appreciate it.

  6. If your neighborhood was built about 20 years ago, then that puts you right in the middle of the 80s, back when a little thing like burying a whole mess of construction debris was no big deal, and still legal. Sometime in the early 90s they made it illegal to bury all that stuff. However, for the people with the great big holes in their yards just barely covered with dirt, its a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Depending on who your builder was and IF they are still in business as the same company, you might be able to get them to come back and do something about it. If you do this, come prepared with a whopping big ole lawsuit and a pretty good lawyer, otherwise they will probably laugh at you.

About the best thing to do is go to the very great extent of hiring someone to come out and clean out the mess and fill in the hole correctly.

  7. Dang, I have a seriously delicious recipe for 'Big Ole Pretzels' at home, but wouldnt you know it, I am at work.

But, as has been said before.....Google it! It really is the worlds biggest cookbook.

  8. There is such a group, though it isnt just stricly Paulding. Its a Yahoo group that was an off shoot of Freecycle. The link for it is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/georgiaplantexchange/

However, I give you fair warning, the people that are on there now are a great group of people but the topics do tend to wander off gardening and plants a bit. So, if you dont mind a plant exchange that is a little like what it was like when your grandmothers gardening buddies got together: some gardening talk mixed with some plant trading mixed with a little tall tale telling, wrapped in a fun environment; come and see us.

  9. We have had good experiences with Discount Tire as well. I went one Monday, my off day, thinking I would be there for at least an hour or two to have 2 new tires put on my truck. The sales guy was great, showed me the best tire they had for the money, didnt try to get me to buy some overblown wondertire. I didnt even have time to finish eating my biscuit from Mcdonalds before he came back and told me I was ready to go.

  10. Hmmmm, the Armed Forces Day air show at Dobbins, then flying home at breakneck speed to get ready. A small church wedding, 40-50 people, the reception in our backyard (AND somebody else cooked the barbeque) then off to the movies so everybody else could clean up. Nope, wouldnt change a thing.
