  1. Paulding County 4H Archery Halloween competition

    The Paulding County 4H Archery team will be hosting our Halloween Competition on October 19th at the Horse Ring at Paulding Meadows.  Please see the attached flyer for details.  The registration link will take you to a Google doc.  Registration will be open until Tuesday, October 15th

    The shoot is open to 4th grade to adults, compound and recurve.  We invite all our local bow hunter and archery enthusiasts to come join us.

    This will probably be the only archery competition of this type held in our area this year.  This is not a 3D tournament, but rather Olympic style archery.

  2. Rash of thefts in two New Hope neighborhoods last night

    This may have been a safe area, but I would contribute part of the problem to the fact that if people are leaving diamond earrings, iPads, guns, etc. in their cars, the thieves likely decided to come visit a few folks...

     

    Well that makes a load of sense. I leave something in MY car in MY driveway on MY property and you want to blame me because some asshat thinks they are entitled to just come along and take whatever they feel like because they can see it through the glass car window? Would it be the same if they broke into a house and took the same valuables they could see through a window made out of the same glass?

    Even being a guy, I grew up helping in the kitchen, around my house it was 'help or you dont eat', I like to eat. Never had a problem baking a bird, however, the first time I ever tried to deep fry a turkey, we wound up overflowing the grease onto the fire and creating the first annual Thanksgiving bonfire. That was the first year in our new house, met ALL of the neighbors we hadnt gotten around to yet, met some nice firemen.

     

    PS even after it went flambe the turkey was pretty darn good.

    Are there any good bars in Hiram? I have family coming into town and they want to find a bar to meet several friends at, I have no clue where to send them. I have 2 small children, havent seen the inside of a real bar in years. Where should I send them?

    Need to find home for some pets

    Help! Due to a death in the family I am trying to find good homes for 3 pets.

    The first is an adult Dalmation. He is an outside dog, never been house trained

    The second is a female Cockatiel. Comes with a 2x2x3 wire cage

    The third is an Iguana, dont know the gender. Comes with a big wood and wire cage

    Sharper Image KO500 Bluetooth Speakers

    OK, I bought a pair of bluetooth speakers from Sharper Image last spring. Got a great price on them and they have really good sound. I installed the program disk with no problem and have been thouroughly satisfied with them.

     

    Earlier this week, my laptop greeted me in the morning with the blue screen of death, and a Fatal Error message.

     

    I got it to reboot, and was able to log onto the Microsoft site and downloaded all the upgrades. Rebooted and all was fine, except when I try to connect my bluetooth speakers I get a message requesting a passkey. !?!?!?

     

    GRRRRRR!?!?!

     

    There was no passkey when I originally installed them. I have never entered a passkey whenever I return from a trip and set my laptop back up.

     

    Went to the sharper image website and did a contact, but got a message back the next day informing me they were now closed and out of business, and that unless I purchased an extended warrantee there was nothing they could do for me.

     

    And gurus out there who know a passkey and or know how to circumvent entering the passkey ?

     

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software [i have the disk] to no avail.

     

    Suggestions anyone ? I miss my music and have no other sound on my laptop....the speaker plug was damaged [and that is one reasons I opted to try the bluetooth speakers] and the speakers won't work unless you fiddle around with a speaker plug in the socket and jiggle it just right.

     

     

     

    try using 0000 that is the generic code for all bluetooth earpieces, dunno if it will work but give it a shot.

     

     

    Free Family Movie Night

    Northview Baptist Church is having a Family Movie night tomorrow starting at 5pm. We will be watching a family friendly movie (cant say the name because the Mouse has big ears and a nasty bite). We will have some games, popcorn and fun.

    Looking for a workout partner

    Hey folks, I have recently started trying to get healthy and started going to the gym. I go to the Freedom Fitness on Dallas Acworth just above Crossroads, I am looking for a workout partner, somebody to help me remember to go, to help motivate me and just generally make working out a bit more fun. I usually go about 730pm during the week on the way home. PM me if you might be interested in making a friend and getting in shape.
