Here is ONE help for those interested, http://www.nps.gov/civilwar/soldiers-and-sailors-database.htm you can choose either Union or Confederate for look up, I'm very familiar with this site and recent changes actually hinder look ups, but I suggest the following. Start with Union or Confederate then LAST NAME ONLY, sometimes if you put in first name with last name or first name initial and last name for some reason you won't pull up info.
