Lucille was the youngest of the eleven children of Felix and Menarkie Abernathy, and at her passing was the last surviving of those eleven children. Lucille was born March 22, 1923 in Acworth, Georgia. Her grandfather was a Baptist minister, her father a farmer and her mother a homemaker.
