  1. No, they won't train. They really want someone that can move into the position and perform from day one. I will send you a link though and he can look at it and see if he thinks he can qualify.

Yes please, thank you very much.

  2. My husband is looking for another job, he currently is working making fiberglass here in Dallas but he is getting cussed out and pretty much bullied everyday, i have told him just to ignore it but it's to the point where it's really bringing him down.

He is very hardworking he has done everything!

He has done plumbing, all and every bit of construction, landscaping, was the manager for a gas station, and was making fiberglass then got promoted to the spray room.

If anyone can give me an info or help in any way please let me know, feel free to PM me, thank you.

  3. LOL. I can't tell you how many times my son in law applied where he finally got a job. He made the rounds in Austell every couple of weeks and hounded every place he thought would hire him. Finally, one day one of the cashiers where he works asked my daughter if he was still looking for a job because they had an opening but since he hadn't been in to apply lately thought he must have gotten something. Long story short, three days later he was working. Not a great job but a job with room for advancement and close enough to walk, rain or shine.

Don't give up! At least you're not trying to pay a car payment, insurance and utilities.

Very true, and very valid point, i just want and need to be some what stable to at least give my daughter whatever she needs.

  4. Not a great situation but it could be worse. pardon.gif

Do you live close enough to any fast food place, restaurant or retail store to be able to walk to work? My son in law had been looking for a job since last December and finally got a job in August. It is within walking distance of his house. They don't have a car, so he pretty much had to get a job close enough to walk to it.

And if you do get a job that you can walk to, be sure to carry PEPPER SPRAY with you. My daughter who does a lot of walking doesn't leave home without pepper spray now. Only 'cause she can't get a carry permit and firearm...yet. wink.gif

Get training for something. Some short term training course that would put you in a job in a few months would be a good start. Consider H&R Block. And no, you don't have to be a math whiz to do taxes (I'm living proof of that).

I live very close to a gas station and an ingles but i have been bothering them for forever now and they still wont contact me, it's very close, my mom can drive me they are so close, and is that is very good idea, , and oh yeah i am horrible and i mean horrible with math!

  5. Lots of places are beginning their seasonal hiring- I would do an online application for evey store you can think of in Hiram!

I just did that last night actually, thank you.

Have you tried signing up with some of the staffing services like Randstad? Alot of companies only go thru staffing service to hire people. Plus it can give you a chance to gain some experience in different areas by doing temp jobs. JMO.

Do you have more information? how would i go about that?

  6. Have you tried looking on craigslist? I seem to find a lot more on there than anywhere else I have looked.

I live on that website, i look literally every day, there is never anything on there, and if there is, I don't meet there needs.

I tell them i will literally do anything, i'll help out around doing little or big things, i can handle man work, ect ect, anything to make money.

  7. I still have no resume made up, I have worked for my father in his demolition company, I have worked as a waitress, And i have worked at kohls.

I am a mom to a 18 month old little girl and I have absolutely no help or no income

If anyone has any information please message me, thank you.

  8. Have you checked with housekeeping for hospitals, elderly care nursing facilities?

The turnover rate is fairly high and I think most facilities always have a need in that department.

Honestly that is something I have been wanting to do for a while now, how could i find places? I know there is a place right next to Paulding hospital but should I just go up there and ask if they have any job openings ?

Well, the OP originally posted this in May, and was job hunting before that as I recall. If she or her SO had investigated the possibility at that time, they might have been enlisted by now. ;)

We did actually! but they would not take him unless he finished school, got his GED than took some classes in Collage...that is what they told him.

  9. What are you going to school for?

What jobs have you / your hubby have experience with?

I finished high school in 09, i have worked multiple waitress jobs, i worked doing landscaping, hands on demolition, and painting/remodeling but it was for my dads business

Wishing you lots of luck sweetie. :) Keep your head up.

I have literally been looking since before my daughter was even born, I have no idea why it's becoming so difficult, but I suppose if this fails, I could always go to school for nursing and than get a job quicker right after i finish school. Thank you so much! and best of luck to you also!

  16. My fiance lost his job and we are gonna lose everything..we were living off tax return...being out on your own is hard when just starting out, we have a 1 year old and she is our world, we don't want to have to end up being a broken apart family, does anyone have any odd jobs he can do or maybe a job, we have been praying and praying away, I feel embarrassed even posting this but i have to do it for the sake of our precious daughter.
