I'm reading this one right now....
The Man Comes Around: The Spiritual Journey of Johnny Cash By Dave Urbanski
Its a great read and gives guys like me a little bit of hope.
Oh, I love Johnny Cash. I'm gonna have to find that one. He was a good man with a lot of spiritual/fleshly battles.
I'm gonna check out your recommendations, too, GEAgirl. I'm reading The Emperor's Children right now, which is the STUPIDEST book I've ever read in my life, so I need something refreshing.

PM sent (for XTW).
Thanks for the recommendation, Celeste!

George was an amazing man with the kindest heart. We are all so sad that he is gone, but thankful that he's not suffering anymore. He was so excited about the Hayride, sporting his t-shirt around town, coming by to watch the progress...doing everything he could to help Paul and Jason get this thing going. Unfortunately, he was too sick to come once it actually started.
That sweet man will be missed by so many. Everyone please keep Paul and Nick and the grandkids in your prayers...they will certainly be in ours.

Glad you posted this! I didn't even think about the fact that you work on chainsaws, too. :duh: I will make sure Jason (Xtreme Tree Worx) is aware!!
-
I am so shocked and saddened to hear this. Rhonda taught all my children in VBS and Sunday School a few years ago, and she was such a sweet, genuine person. My heart is just breaking for Jimmy and the girls, and the entire Gurley family. They will all be in my prayers, and I pray that they can find comfort in the fact that she is with Jesus now.

Just a reminder that ticket sales start at 5:30! Come get yours early and stay and have some off the chain BBQ!!
-

I think we'll be seeing you guys on Friday with a bunch of 11 y/o boys!
We have to park at Panter correct??
Yep, park at Panter, and there will be a bus waiting to bring you over!!
They will have a blast! Can't wait to see you (tell me who you are when you come through the ticket window)!!
-
i'll see you tonight

Remember, if you go by CJ & Associate Insurance or Pirate Printing and pick up a t-shirt, you get $3 off an adult ticket tonight (and any other Thursday night)!!
And at the suggestion of DAW, we are going to offer a discount if you want to come back more than once. Just bring your torn ticket stub back ANY night that we're open (not just Thursday), and you'll get $3 off an adult ticket!

i'm getting mine tomorrow

Go by Pirate Printing or CJ & Associates Insurance to get your Haunted Junkyard Hayride t-shirt! They are available now!
They are $10 ($12 for xxl & bigger), and that allows you $3 off of your adult Hayride ticket on Thursday nights if you wear it! If you come to the Hayride 3 times on Thursdays wearing your t-shirt, it has practically paid for itself!
-
Wow, that's an awesome deal! I need to contact you soon...it's been forever since I've had my kids' pictures made.
-
I hope it's actually scary. We went to nightmare on the mountain last year and I laughed the whole way through. A couple of times I think I scared the characters that were supposed to scare us.
Of course I'm alot meaner than most people y'all know.
The junkyard itself is creepy, and then you add all this other crap to it, and I flat refuse to walk through there by myself after dark!
-
Quick question in regards to the hayride. Will any of the creepy stuff/people/monsters touch people?? I'm nervous about this, maybe I'll send my boys first and see if they make it
NO, no creepy people/stuff/monsters will touch anyone on the hayride and no one on the hayride will be allowed to touch the creepy people/stuff/monsters...
You'll be scared enough without them grabbing you!
-
Do you have a picture of what it looks like?
I don't tonight, but I will try to put one on here tomorrow.
Oh wait, there's a pic on the website
-
You can get your Haunted Junkyard Hayride t-shirt early at CJ & Associates Insurance, Dallas Chiropractic, and Pirate Printing! They are only $10 ($11 for xxl and larger).
And here's the kicker...if you wear it on Thursday nights, you get $3 off your ticket!

Thanks for the info. We did the 4H event a couple of years ago down by station 5 on Ridge Rd. Gonna bother you with a couple of more questions; When does the last ride /startend??? How many does the ride hold as we have been known to come in a large group, about a dozen or so.
Questions are no bother!! The last tickets are going to be sold at 11:00 pm or so, that way we can finish up no later than midnight. Each trailer should hold 25-30, and we will have atleast 3 tractors running!
-
Sounds like fun!!! A few of us have over the last few years gone to some local haunted hay rides. This is in the hood very close by. Count us in!!!!! Refresh me on the dates, times, and cost please
Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night in October. Ticket sales begin at 5:30 pm, and rides start at dusk. $15 for adults, $12 for 12 & under.
Can't wait to see you there!!
ETA: There will be an all day Fall Festival on October 31, and the 4H Horse and Pony Club will be giving horse and pony rides every Saturday starting at noon!
So who's planning to come to the Hayride tonight?
