  1. We are wanting to put down a concrete pad under our deck. We have the man power, all we need is concrete. Anyone know any good companies??? Any estimates for a pad that will be roughly 10 x 24 feet?

    Thanks!

  2. Please call Warehouse of Hope. They are in our community and really do great work. I'm not sure if they can pick up, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

  5. I have a question about an estimate that I received to finish my basement.

I will have 2 rooms finished as well as a bathroom wired for electrical. I will have the standard things - outlets every 6 feet or so, main overhead light for ceiling fans and 4 recessed lights in each bedroom. Also, I am having him wire for an airconditioner and for a few more outlets added to my garage. He will also wire for an outdoor weather proof box for underneath our porch to house a ceiling fan and add a flood light.

For all of this, he will charge right at $1,000. Is this price reasonable. I think it's a great price, but just wanted to make sure since this is the first time I have done anything like this!

    Thanks in advance!!! :)

  6. Hello everyone! I wanted to let everyone know that I will be having a yard sale this Friday, April 13th and Saturday, April 14th from 8 am till 4 pm (or whenever people stop showing up!) This yard sale will benefit a Medical Mission Trip I will be going on in August to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I will be working as a nurse in a medical clinic for one week. At this sale, we will have 2 families goodies for sale as both myself and the other seller will be going on the trip. PLEASE come out to support our calling from God! We are trying to raise $2,250 each (certainly not all from this yard sale, though!) and are eager to sell to get to our goal!

We have a coffee table, pictures for the walls, home decor, halloween decorations, 2 twin mattresses, a recliner, an antique couch (needs to be redone), shelves, kids clothes and toys, women's clothing and shoes (size 5-6), men's clothing, a weed eater (it needs a lot of work), a push lawn mower (needs work also), a 12-speed bike, computer monitor, gardening items, books, mirrors, coffee maker, blender, mixer, drinking glasses, purses, comptuer desk, matching table cloth, chair covers and napkins, and much much more!!!!

Directions to the sale from Hiram: Take 278 towards Dallas. At the redlight where the hospital is, you will turn left onto Buchanan Hwy, also called Hwy 120. Go 7 miles and the neighborhood is on the right - called "The Hills at Safe Harbor". Turn right onto Safe Harbor Drive and continue straight till you see 443 on your left.

We will also be cooking out and providing a meal for $5 with a drink to energize the weary yard saler!

We are also collecting used eye glasses to take on our trip. I will give $1.00 off your purchase for each pair that is brought! B)

If anyone knows of a dentist that would be willing to go on the trip in August, please PM me!!!

Also, if you want to read about the wonderful work being done in the clinic in Brazil, please read the website from Piedmont Baptist Church! Scroll down till you see Medical Mission Team To Brazil!

  8. Last night around 7:15 my sweet 4-year-old slipped in the bath and her chin slammed on to the side of the tub. I hear THE scream - you know the "OMG the Pain I think I'm gonna die" scream - so I go running in to the bath room and see. . . NOTHING. Yep at first I just saw she was crying so I pick her up and that’s when the blood comes (now you should know that, although I am not a squeamish person, I’m not good in "emergency" situations) So I see blood, she's screaming and I freak for a moment then rush her to the other bathroom to "assess" the situation. I shove a towel under her chin and say you’re gonna calm down and momma's gonna calm down and we are both gonna be ok! Then I call the one person who can answer every question in the world - My Mom - and ask what is the "requirement" for stitches? (Funny part is she was at a party and I can just imagine her face when she gets a call saying "Now don't freak out but what are the requirements for stitches?) Well my daughter fell into the "needs stitches" category, but before I can take her I have to get someone to watch the other kids so M & FIL has to drive over then they have to assess the injury and it's again determined that stitches are the way to go probably just two.

So I load up my daughter and away to Paulding Wellstar we go and I have to say that those are the best bunch of folks ever  We arrived at 8:05, got right into triage then the business end then waited maybe an hour in the waiting room - believe me I was expecting on a Saturday night to wait much longer than that! Then we got back to a room they checked her out quickly decided that yes stitches were needed and gave her some lovely pain meds to make her tired before they began the procedure. Those took a little over an hour to kick in so my daughter and I enjoyed cable television (since we only have rabbit ears at home) and had fun "mom/daughter" hang out time! Then the wonderful ER ladies came in and stitched her right up - I have to give big Kudos to my daughter she NEVER cried and actually fell asleep she was on her very best behavior  -

It actually took 7 stitches for her little chin and we were in and out of the ER before 11:30pm and I so expected to be there way after midnight. So THANK YOU folks at Paulding Wellstar Hospital ER. My daughters first trip to the ER was actually fun! - Not that I want to do it again anytime soon ;)

It's nice to get thanks from time to time! We do the best we can and are glad you had a positive experience! Hope she's doing well. . . . .

  9. I lived in Amli off 120 near the Hardy Dealerships and I liked the time I spent there. I never had trouble with getting things fixed and it was relatively a quiet complex. . .I do suggest looking into the crime statistics for any apartment complex be it Magnolia Creste, St. Ives, Amli, etc. . . . .it gives a good pic of the complex.
