  1. hey guys... while it would be nice to get the county website updated, you all seem to be depend and rely on the robo calls, and we usually hear about these things on P.com before anywhere else...

WSB is the official source for closings and delays. TV, radio, or website. Everyone has access to one of these outlets. The robo calls, and even the county website are not considered the official notification. As a coincidence, while typing this, the robo call just came.

  2. Yes, quite sarcastic... believing anything that is posted in a pro- or con- candidates web page without looking into it isn't how to vote. It works convince a lot of people, because they are products of our modern media society. If they here it on TV or read it on the internet, it must be true!

I think DB, Jr. was being a little sarcastic. (I hope)

  3. Here is a price list for our cupcakes

    Simple cupcakes are 1.00

    Mini cupcakes .75

    Specialty cupcakes 1.35

Cupcake of Month 1.50 (Pumpkin Praline)

    Jumbo cupcakes 2.95

Verrrrrry good! Of course, I haven't had anything from Bumble Bee that wasn't great!

  4. I'll be there! Samples will be great. I've never had anything I didn't like from there, so it will be nice to try some different things.

I tend to stick with thinks I know I like... the apple fritters are wonderful, and probably my favorite. The wife likes the black and white cupcakes best.

  5. It's been discussed in the political forum: http://paulding.com/...ost__p__3212924

They obviously haven't considered the cost to the businesses. Imagine the small guy having to issue a 1099 to Home Depot, then Home Depot having to keep track of tens of thousands of them, making sure they're accurate and filing them on their tax forms.

This extends to those who buy and sell to the public like Coin dealers or Pawn shops.

Thanks! I had the political forums turned off... and after reading through that thread, I remember why! My BP is up about 20 points just in the few minutes it took to read through it!! :)

  6. New 1099 Requirments in "Healthcare" bill

Did any of you notice this? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, and some of you tax guys will clear it up for me.

Now, for every vendor that I spend over $600 per year, regardless of the product or service, I have to file a 1099. That means that I have to get tax id numbers for my landlord, phone company, cable company, office supply store, etc. Pretty much anyone that I do over $50 per month business with.

How does this relate to healthcare? The wonderful folks who wrote the bill said it would bring in $17M dollars in untaxed revenue! More BS to justify how it will be paid for. This will generate little or no additional tax revenue, except where accountants will charge more to file the 1099's! :)

  7. Besides being a fantastic city to just "Walk", it is full of historical gems.

The Rijksmuseum [Rikes] is full of works by the great masters, including Rembrant's Nightwatch painting.

A canal crusie which also goes around the old part of the harbor is a great way to see many of the sites including the Anne Frank House.

And the INFAMOUS Redlight district. Prostitution and Porn is wide open legal in the Netherlands, and Amsterdam has a section of the city which is probably close to a square mile of bars, clubs, stage shows, porn palaces and side streets with the lady's advertising their wares, or lack there of.

Food in Amsterdam is great with lots of little bistros and cafes with fixed price menus.

All of the major chains have hotel locations in Amsterdam, but we stay at a tiny hotel 1 block from the Central Station [Train] which was a warehouse. Maybe 15-20 rooms which are relatively large with nice views. A good breakfast is included and it is half the price of the Holiday Inn across the street, If arriving or leaving via Schipol Airport, the KLM Bus picks up at the HI front door so all you have to do is lug your bags across the street and get on the bus which will drop you off at the KLM checkin.

Ditto on all the above, except we were not so lucky with our accomodations. It was a neat little boathouse that had been converted to a B&B. No service at all. We have cpap machines, and kept shorting out their power, even with converters. We splurged on our night after the cruise and stayed at the Holiday Inn. Over priced, but you know what you're getting! smile.gif

    A VODKA museum?! That's AWESOME! drinks.gif

It's close to the SEX Museum! The funniest thing I saw was that the home shopping channels on tv during the day turned to Ho shopping channels at night! Showing pictures and listing their "talents"...

We did the 10 day Celebrity British Isles cruise out of Amsterdam. I'd love to do a transatlantic, but so far, they never coincide with work schedules.

  8. there is one thing you need to know about the Douglasville project. The city of Douglasville and the County paid for the Engineering fees. DOT only is paying for the construction

So if Paulding wants to pony up the money for the design fees...I'm sure the design firm would love to do the work! ninja.gif

It's my understanding that all the design work was done for these projects, only the funding for actual construction and maybe more right-of-way purchases remains. I know some right-of-way was purchased 2-3 years ago. I don't know how much of it, but it was started, and then funds were cut. That is probably the result of the state capitol trying to punish our former representative, but no real proof of that.

  9. Thank you for all of your comments about Will.

We have lost our son but know without a doubt that he is in a much better place.

We never had to teach Will about Jesus, he believed in Jesus before he believed in Santa.

    Will taught me to believe.

Mark, because you know where he is, you have not really lost him. I know it is hard to think of it that way, but we just have to wait a while to see them again. I know that is not too much comfort on the surface, but it truely is a blessing to know this when all else has failed to provide any comfort.

May God bless you and your family with his Grace as only He can through this tough time. My door is always open whenever you need to come in.
