  1. I did find out that this place is owned by the same person that owns one in the Underground Atlanta.

I went for Mother's Day (got a pink rose :give_rose:) Hubby had their Shepherd's Pie = Yummy!! Yes, I had to have a bite. My son had their wings and both he and my hubby thought they were better than Buffalo's (not Wild Wings, I just can't remember the name of the other Buffalo's). I had their fish and chips = so good!

They have their patio seating open now and Saturday night they had a Celtic band playing in the courtyard and a small dance floor where kids could kick up their heels, it was SO CUTE to see these little ones just jumping and dancing all around to the music. Lots of people in lawn chairs...looked like a big patio party.

So much fun! Y'all need to try it!!

Where are you "I'm Floored" we need to go back!!! ;)

  2. There's a new Irish Bred Pub and Restaraunt just a few doors down from Gumbeaux's (sp?) in Douglasville. They have a bar and a restaraunt downstairs and a bar and dancefloor/nightclub upstairs. They just opened patio seating this week that's really nice to sit in the courtyard behind the Pub, at least while the weather is still good. :D

My daughter is working there and says they have a new special each day. We ate lunch there a couple weeks ago, mmmm...very good!

They have Dj's, trivia night and other special events.....give them a try!!

  3. David Austin!!

He came to our house, introduced himself talked to me and hubby for a little while and then moved on to the next house. How cool is that!!

What a nice man. I'm sure I am like hundreds of other Paulding County residents that are so extremely frustrated over the lack of planning in our County. Whether it's because of the "good 'ol boy" network or just incompetence, I know I'm ready for a change.

Mr. Austin's brochure does address most of the common complaints that we have i.e. NO Resevoir, Stinking sewage fields, Increased Property taxes....that's all I can remember off the top of my head. But, they were definitely some of our most "hot" topics.

It would just be nice to see some balance brought back to our county.

Thank you Mr. Austin, it was really nice meeting you!

  4. That is correct. If you elected to have your fees for the prepration taken out of your rebate, you will be receiving a paper check. The reason is -- since you elected to have your fees taken out of your refund, the IRS actually deposited your return into Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, they deducted the fees, and then immediately deposited the rest of your return into your account -- all in the same day.

So, you still received your return via direct deposit, but the IRS has SBBT's direct deposit information on file -- which looks kind of like a Refund Anticipation Loan.

Unfortunately, I am one of these people as well! May 9 cannot come fast enough!

Thanks "Raidernationdad", We're in that same boat....c'mon May 9th!!

  5. Our's is 37 and we used Turbo Tax and we filed back in Feb....but no rebate in the bank today :(

Ours is 18..ditto above, filed in Feb...nothing yet?!! :unknw: Why would it matter if we used Turbo Tax at all, we've used Turbo Tax for over 5 years??? Direct Deposit, got our refunds QUICKLY!! Just a little frustrating!! But we can wait for paper checks :glare:

  6. Um, didn't The Who do Pinball Wizard?

Yes, The Who did Pinball Wizard....AND......that was my first concert my Senior year of High School....The Who's Farewell Tour. I could have stared at Roger Daltrey's blue eyes all night...(sigh)......

  7. Can't the local trash companies provide some type of recycling programs? I notice in Douglas County they have small blue bins that people use to put items to recycle in. Does Douglas County provide those bins and that program?

I know I'd rather recycle, even if it was a few extra dollars a month on our trash bill. Just knowing that glass, aluminum and plastic were being recycled and not just piled in a landfill.

    Just a suggestion.

  8. They had better or they will see unprecedented levels of software piracy of people downl;oading XP ISOs. They made a $#!**y product and they refuse to own up to it. So the people will refuse to use vista if they can help it.

    Anyone need XP out there?

Here's the thing, I bought a new Dell laptop and I didn't even get to choose the operating system, the ONLY ONE OFFERED was VISTA!! :angry2: Lame. So "yes" I may need XP. I haven't had a problem....yet -_- . Luckily it's not our only computer, but it is our quickest.

  9. I'm pretty sure that just recently the speed limit was changed from 45mph to 50mph, which I don't think they would have done if 50mph was unsafe or unreasonable. Here is what the Georgia State Speed Law says

Minimum Speed Limit: I. No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede

the normal and reasonable movement of traffic. '40-6-184(a)(1)

The question would still remain, at 40mph was he impediment? I'm guessing the guy in the truck thought so.

  10. Last night I took my son out for some practice driving. He just got his permit a week ago. We try to stay on the side roads for the most part, but I let him venture out onto Nebo Road for the first time last night. He was driving very well, just a little slow. He was doing about 40 mph. There was a guy in a large 4x4 dark colored truck all up his butt making him nervous. I told him to pull over when he got to a subdivision entrance and let the guy by. The truck was honking and just being terribly rude. Anyway, here I am trying to teach him to drive safe and not worry about the people behind him and the guy behind him is being a butt. So...Mr. Speedy Truck Guy, I am trying to raise a responsible, safe driver here!!!! You need to chill out and stop being such an ass!!!

BTW...when he pulled over to let the butt by, a police car pulled up behiind him and turned his lights on. The police woman was VERY nice. She was just making sure we were okay. When she found out that we were practicing I think she felt a little bad for turning her blue lights on. :D

HE is one week into his permit and he has already seen blue lights and road rage!

No offense, but I think the speed limit is 50 mph on Nebo Road now. That might have been why the Truck was "all up his butt".

Now don't slam me, just making an observation!!
