  1. Just trying to figure out if it is the same guy whose name I heard on TV, and if so, where his qualifications come from...... A year's time as a part-timer in the most liberal magistrate's court in the country and an in-depth knowledge of the local liquor laws just don't seem to be what I'd be looking for in a DA. Not saying that any of the choices are great, but I can't recall anything good from ever choosing from the lesser of evils. Is that jack*** enough for you?

Yes, in that I was right on my first impression of you. It also goes to show you don't know anything about Chad Plumley <_< or for that matter anything about "in-depth knowledge of local liquor" haha....that statement cracks me up

  2. Isn't Plumley the lawyer that all the people who can't speak English go to get their alcohol licenses?

    My opinion:

If Drew Lane has not been able to get things together in the DA's office since James Osborne was moved to Superior Court Judge, there is no hope for his numbers to get any better. If you are DA, YOU run your office, don't whine that the failures in your office aren't your fault. There have been way too many cases dead docketed (not brought to trial in time for convictions) for my comfort and it seems we've heard more crickets in criminal court than actual cases. Also, I believe he sat second seat in the Silver Comet case, which meant he had to be coached the entire way through that case because he couldn't actually try it (Pubby can probably check on that for clarification).

Dick Donovan is 64. He is either going to retire too soon to get things squared away in our DA's office or he really has his sights set on a Judge position; either way, he's not going to commit to Paulding County for long enough to get my vote. Also, isn't he a Defense Attorney and hasn't he mostly received support by Defense Attorney's in Cobb County? Is that like taking money from the enemy? Probably not, but that's how it seems. Much too pompous for me.

Plumley looks like the lesser of all evils in this race. But again, this is just my opinion. The fact that he manages liquor licences seems so random to be placed in this thread I'm still scratching my head over that comment. Hopefully Hee Haw has some type of point he can clarify for us otherwise I'm going to think his name implies that he is a jack***

  3. From what I've seen, Drew Lane is nice. However, that office is a mess. Of the three running, quite frankly I find Dick Donovan the most qualified. Although I will confess to limited direct knowledge about Plumley. How would you suggest the research be carried out? It appears (on the surface) that people who are voting against Donovan have more personal issues than professional so I don't know how voters would get that information. And, I truly feel that a vote against Donovan is a vote for Lane and will put him right back in office and right back into the same mess we are currently in.

    Google is our friend.

    Plumley for Paulding

  4. I just got an email from West Ridge about The Warehouse of Hope needing clothing donations. Does anyone know where this is? Is it actually at West Ridge? I have a few bags of clothes I'd like to take today. Just want to be sure of where it is.

Warehouse of Hope is off Hwy 92 on Hunter Road. Go South on Hwy 92, go through the light at Brownsville Road and Hunter Road is your first left. 2nd Bldg on the right is the Warehouse of Hope. I believe they will be open tomorrow also until 8:00pm. They are taking donations of toiletry items and clothing.

  5. Watch one of those recycling trucks pick up the recyclables sometime. ;)

I only recycle what I know is sent to the right recycler. I take paper to Austell Boxboard, we have no aluminum cans, few steel cans and little plastic. I refuse to pay extra for recycling. I did that several years ago until I watched the recycling truck pick up. I called that day and cancelled the recycling.

So....are you saying that the trucks are just trash pick up trucks and they don't really recycle? Why wouldn't you pay extra for someone to recycle for you? I know I would. I don't want to have bags sitting in my garage or basement and I know what a procrastinator I am and who knows when it would actually get taken anywhere. I know I don't mind sorting out the recylcables, but I do want to know that they are actually being recycled and I'm not just paying $10 more a month for additional trash service that all ends up in a landfill. <_<

  6. I would highly recommend Dr. Rose :good: n

I highly recommend Dr. Rosen. I was referred by my OB/GYN. Other than I wanted to ask him if he was old enough to be a surgeon  , you'll notice in his office he was chief of surgery in Chicago somewhere. Considering what you have to talk with him about, he's pretty normal to talk with and totally understands the uncomfortableness of why some people are there.

Yep the prep is a NIGHTMARE!!

  7. Ingredients bullet_arrow_up.gif
    • 3 cans Hungry Jack biscuits
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 11/2 cup sugar
    • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/2 cup butter, melted

    Directions bullet_arrow_up.gif

    1. Cut biscuits into fourths.
    2. Place sugars, cinnamon and cut biscuits in a zip-lock bag and shake until biscuits are well coated.
    3. Sprinkle chopped pecans in a well-greased bundt pan.
    4. Place coated biscuits into a bundt pan. Sprinkle the remaining sugar from the zip-lock bag onto the biscuits.
    5. Pour melted butter over biscuits.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
    7. Turn onto platter and serve hot.

    <lickinlips>

This is pretty close to my recipe, but I use 4 cans of biscuits and 1 cup of brown sugar to 1/2 cup of butter, heat until almost carmelized (sp?) and layer in nuts (I use chopped almonds). Baked at 350 for 35 minutes or until tips are brown.

    YUM!!!

  8. Get OUT!!!! We just ate there with friends last night. I didn't see any signs posted or anything....I wonder if the staff knew ahead of time. Everything seemed normal enough....

We were there yesterday after church. My daughter worked there and closed last night. One of the other employee's called her today to let her know. So the answer is "no" I don't think anyone knew.

  9. Thank you for the statistics CarolineElizabeth.

However, as a result, Paulding County jail is 90 people over the maximum allowed amount. That means they'll be releasing more individuals back out on the streets.

While we all should be grateful for the crackdown, Paulding County is seriously lacking in the ability to keep up with the amount of criminals.

Maybe our new sheriff will be able to help out with this.

  10. I'm also a Nora Roberts fan, I usually like any of her trilogies. Probably the Jewel Trilogy was my favorite. I love when she writes about Ireland.

I read The Shack...WOW! It truly is an amazing read and so reconfirming of what the Bible says about God's promises and our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I loved the conversations.

"I'm Floored" we're waiting for you to read it because we love you  and want to talk about it!!! Oh...and PS I miss seeing your beautiful face!

Also, one of my favorites is a Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel. Sometimes I felt like I was in over my head and needed a Ph.D. in physics, but it was definitely eye opening!! :o
