About Me
Hi everyone. My name is Carin Norton and I have been a member of p.com since September 21, 2009. I have been a Paulding County resident (officially) for about 5 months now. I started dating and eventually married Darryl in July 2008, who had a home here in New Hope so I've been hangin' out in the area for a little over 2 1/2 years.
I have been a Certified Jazzercise Instructor for over 3 years and I own the Jazzercise Center of Dallas. I am a mother of 2...my son is 19 and my daughter is 15. What a blessing they both are and have always been. In addition to running the Jazzercise center and teaching all 9 classes each week, I also run my husbands electrical subcontracting business.
My passion is helping women feel better about themselves. As a divorced mother of two small children (at the time), I felt that my whole life revolved around them. Being a full-time employee, mom, taxi driver, grocery shopper, laundry doer, housekeeper, tutor, referee, etc (you know what I mean) is a LOT of work, to say the least. But one thing I wasn't teaching my children was how to take care of yourself. If you don't, why would anyone else want to.
That's when I started back to Jazzercise. I had done it in the early '90's when I was a stay-at-home mom and LOVED it. So when I decided that I needed to do something for me, Jazzercise was the first thing that came to mind and a new center had just opened 1/2 mile from my house. More than for the physical benefits, I did it for my sanity. It was my one hour that I didn't think about my boss, my kids, the laundry or the grocery shopping....Krogers was right next door, I would do that afterwards.
Now, I enjoy seeing other women do the same thing for themselves. We ALL deserve a break EVERYDAY and it DOESN'T have to be to the Golden Arches.
I have heard many of my customers talk about how much better they feel after a workout and THAT is my reward for doing what I do. I have had one mom go through her entire pregnancy doing Jazzercise and she was back 18 days after delivering on her due date after 6 hours of labor. I have had postpartum moms recover their emotions and several other ladies improve their ability to handle the curves that life sometimes throws us. I have also had customers come off of medications for improving their health. THAT is my reward for doing what I do. It's not always about losing weight, it's about getting healthier. By the way, I have some INCREDIBLE weight loss stories to tell, too.
I truly love what I do and would love to share what I am passionate about with you. I hope to get to know you all better through P.com. God Bless!!
