  1. You don't have to have a super amazing checkbook-breaking camera to take good pictures... It is all about the person BEHIND the camera. I like to think of the camera as a tool... it is just a recording device. However you will see a pretty good difference from upgrading from a point-and-shoot to a digital SLR (like the Canon Digital Rebel, or Nikon D40 or D70). These type of cameras will give you the freedom to change the lens and also there is virtually no "shutter lag" When you press the button it actually takes the picture! Imagine that! ;)

You should consider coming to one of the Paulding Photography Club meetings... I think our next one is the 21st and it is a contest night. All the members have the option of entering a photo or two in the contest (the category for the next contest is "flowers"). It is great because the judge will give feedback on each photo. You really learn alot to improve your own shots just by hearing what others have to say!

Very well said. I know that the Rebel Xt and the Nikon D40 have both come down iin price quite a bit and are very reasonable, and both of them are great cameras. I think you did a great job with these shots samjay, and your daughter is a doll! Looks like you have a very good eye for photography. I love all of them, but the third one is my favorite. Please do come check us out at the photography club. There are a lot of great people there to learn from, and we have a lot of fun.

  2. Ms. Lietz is not only an awesome teacher, she is an awesome person all around. She puts so much passion and creativity into all that she does. It doesn't suprise me at all that she went over and above to make sure that your son got his valentines, but she probably never gave it a second thought as to being anything extraordinary.

  3. The spray is awesome too !!!!

The cream and the spray are great for soreness. I love the spray because it is very easy to apply. I actually keep a bottle in my purse for when my neck gets stiff.

  4. So glad that you started this thread Soapmom. I am one of those that do not like to see photos of children online, particularly the nude or even just topless shots. Like you said, there are too many perverts out there. I know some people had mentioned getting a release on the professional level, but I am not sure that protects the photographer. Suppose the parent has given a release and a very innocent looking bathtub photo is posted on your site. What happens from someone from any child protection site or anti pornography group stumbles upon your site? You may very likely be setting your self up for an investigation of child pornography, and because it is on the web, that means international investigation as well.

One of the scariest things that I have seen lately was actually from a professional photographer (not local to this area, but the product was marketed to many of the teenagers here). A portrait package was offered where there was the option to have a fold-out set of business card size photos. On the back of these you could have printed your name, home address, home and cell phone number and email address. My first thought was, what happens if some girl misplaces these photos or gives them to someone that drops them on the street? Any stalker or pervert just gained access to exactly what your child looks like and where to find them.

  5. Okay...as promised, the update on using this product. I have continued to use it this morning on my hands, wrists and feet and am seeing an incredible relief from using it! Bruce said his back felt good this morning and he slept well last night, which is saying a lot for him. I myself am AMAZED at the results!! I am always skeptical of myself when I make these things and that is why I always have friends and "human guinea pigs  " try new products out for me as I know they will give me honest feedback before I market the product. This one is a real winner!

GALINEMAN'S WIFE...You need to stop by and pick some of this up and try it on your feet and ankles. I am happy to give some to you to try and see if it helps!!! Bring your little boy with you, he is always welcome to come with you...please do not ever hesitate to stop by because you have him with you. He is absolutely fine here. I mean that!!

    Hope to see you soon!

    Scarlet

So glad to hear that the cream worked for you too Scarlet. I know that you were really hurting yesterday. I swear, I am addicted to the cream and the spray. I have spent tons of money on medications and creams that are supposed to give relief, but the peppermint works better than any of those.

  6. Glad to see that you are out shooting and practicing Caveman. I really liked your shot from below looking up into the trees. I guess the best advice I could give is to just keep practicing and shooting. I still have ALOT to learn about photography, so I might not be the best one to give you technical advice, but there are tons of websites out there that can give some really good advice. Canon, Nikon and Olympus all have great lessons on their sites, and they are free. One thing that really helped me to was starting about by taking pictures of things that I really enjoy looking at. For me, that is nature, wildlife and cemeteries. I found that when I was shooting something that I enjoyed seeing, I really took more time to compose the photo and try to tell a story with it.

We would love to have you come to the photography club. There are really some great people to learn from there, and I have really enjoyed meeting others who share an interest in photography. I know that Mrs. C has offered this same advice to others on here, and I agree, that sitting in on the competitions and critique really help to learn more about photography. It is great to have another eye look at a picture and not just say whether it is a good or bad, but to explain why. Check out the website at www.paudlingphotographyclub.org for more information about the meeting times and such, and there are also some links to some of the members photos as well.

  7. Thanks so much for the cream Scarlet, and it was great seeing you today. I hope that some of the others on here that are having joint pain will come try the peppermint products. They really do work! One thing I forgot to post earlier that I have been doing with the cream is that when I put it on my hands, I rub it in very briskly. The friction causes the lotion to heat up, and then I just cup my hands together for a few minutes to let the heat work. It really does loosen up the joints and muscles!

  8. so glad to hear this.... such a nice person shouldn't be in pain.

i know bruce had been using the peppermint spray, wonder if it would help with my stiff back?

    it couldn't hurt B) right!

Thanks Momaliz, that is very nice of you to say!

I really do think that the spray will help with your neck, and I think it will help with your back too Shipwreck. I kind of found out about the pain relief part of the product by accident. I was using the soap just because I love the smell so much, and then got the lotion and spray for a stronger scent. I noticed when I sprayed it on my neck and back, the pain was much less. Scarlet was kind enough to mix some of the peppermint oil into some shea cream for me, and I keep the jar on my desk because I type all day. I rub the cream into my hands every couple of hours or so, and I can't believe how much freer my hands move!

  9. Just want to say thanks so much to Scarlet for making the Peppermint spray and shea cream. I have chronic pain and have tried just about everything out there, without much relief. I have been using the spray and the shea cream on my joints, and the difference is amazing! The best part is that they smell yummy, and there are no side effects.

  10. This does work, but I have actually been using the vapor candles that I got from Scarlet, and they seem to work better. I started using the candles first just for the air, and it helped my breathing. After that, I started rubbing the warm candle wax into my joints because of arthritis, and that worked even better. Decided I would try it on my feet to see if it works the same as the Vick's, and not only did it work, I didn't have to scrub my feet to get the layers of petroleum from the Vick's off.

In Granny's Footsteps/Soapmom makes a salt bar that I have been using as well. Not sure if I am supposed to be using it on my face, but there is something about it that really helps clear me up when I am stuffy and wash my face with this. I love it that there is not that medicinal smell as well. Her naked soap is great toe for when the allergies are acting up and you just don't want to have the extra perfume smell to trigger anything, plus your skin feels great!!

I think we are very lucky to have two great ladies with some awesome natural products on here. Which reminds me that I need to get with both of them since I am almost out of both products.

  11. I understand your frustrations. If you want a GREAT ped I would suggest calling Dr. Melamed. He is in Lithia Springs. When you call ask for Deon, the office manager. Explain your situation and I fell confident you will be seen. Dr. Melamed is the best! 770.941.5552

    Good luck!!

I would offer the same advice. Dr. Melamed is very caring and a great Dr. and I am sure that Dionne would be very willing to work with you, especially if you explain the situation.

  12. I am skeptical of this myself, especially since going through my own boughts with breast issues (thankfully one mass removed in time and the other benign). I have to agree with what my surgeon told me -- there are tons of things that are "thought" to put you at risk for breast cancer, but one thing is certain, female or male, if you have breasts, you are at risk for breast cancer.

  13. I have to get in on the bragging too, spaz and I are so very proud of them. They give Scouting more than 100%. They also got thier merit badge for first aid and citizenship in the community.

You both have reason to brag. They are both great boys, and they are a joy to be around!
