Most ad's for Acting or Modeling are nothing more then ploys to get you to spend $1000's of dollars on promoting your children and who knows where are there personal information is going. The same can also be said for young people with musical talent.
The truth is that any good opportunity that can come a young persons way in the entertainment world will not cost you a dollar. Hard work and study of an art is the best way to be ready for real opportunities.
If your child is interested in Acting or Music or even Art you can visit Dallas Cultural Arts at http://www.dallasculturalarts.com or information on Arts education. We are not the only local source for arts education but please do not expose your children to uncontrolled access by crooks.
I'm writing this because once again we spoke to a parent who spent $3500 for someone to take pictures of there child to "shop" her talent to others. This child (super fun and sweet girl) had zero training in any art. In short even if she got an audition for a role or production she would not have known how to audition.. Anyway... be safe and think of your kids first.

Fact - children and adults who learn to play an instrument at any age have a better learning capacity for new information.
Fiction - only children who start young on an instrument benefit in terms of intelligence.
In recent studies scientist have broken the myth that only young learners benefit form playing a music instrument. In neurological testing people of all ages show increeased connections wile playing music. Its the only art form that creates and image in the brain without visual stimulation.
Think about it listen to music and close your eyes and your brain can not help but create an image.
Where am i going? I'm going to Dallas Cultural Arts to learn to play an instrument, to paint, to act or to learn Spanish. My Favorite is the music and its the best for your brain. DCA also is offering a great summer camp for grammar school aged children. Give them a call at 770-443-4211 or check them out on the web. www.Dallasculturalarts.com

another Pcommer and myself were talking about how we do things that embarrass our kids. So I thought this would be a good idea for a topic, plus might give me some ideas to embarrass my dd.
One of the things I do is dance in the car or in public....my DD will be like um mom, don't ever do that again or mmmooommmmm stttttooooppp and the face turns red.... Gotta love kids
so share your embarrassing moments that makes your kids want to run and hide
I always sign out loud to them at the bus stop...... THEY LOVE IT.... HA!

Very cute!!! You have a lot to offer
What are your birthday party prices? I am always looking for new ideas.
Hey Caroline are birthday prices are $15 per child with a $150 minimum. An example of one of our favorite parities is a ceramics party where you'll pick a themed piece of premade ceramic to paint and each guest goes home with a work of art. Also for those who are adventurers you can make your own hand made ceramic to take home. We'll need to fire it first but its really cool.

Well then - it's not "adult" classes. LOL.
Teen/Adult classes. Didn't mean to pee on the Corn Flakes. It's just that when some of us want to explore evening "adult" classes, we don't want to be in a room half full of teens sending "OMG" texts next to us.
Completely understandable, if it helps our classes are majority adults with the occasional teen- When we have 4 teens we start a 'Teen Class'.
-
Who's directing the community chorus?
Emily
Del Delamont- one of our great piano/voice instructors.
If your interested give us a call and will get you on the roster!

Summer Arts Camp- great start
in Internet Cafe
Posted
Well, week one of our summer arts camp is over and what a great week the kids had. At the end of the week there were more then 20 pieces of arts that if framed would make any wall proud.
The Drama Transformation was remarkable. The first day of camp the kids were so timid about getting up in front of a group and saying there names, at the end of the week the kids were not only out of their shell but acting like they were shells on the sea floor being effected by the tides.
In music we learned the Hand Jive and a Latin number called Very hot, hot. The kids were dancing and singing and here Spanish teacher even helped the kids with some Latin dance moves.
Having Spanish class every day was so cool. We learned colors, shapes, introduction conversations and the alphabet.
Anyway, Just an update, on our camp thanks for the community support and we hope to see you soon at Dallas Cultural Arts.
By the way we have 7 more week long camps and some still have some openings.
