  1. I am the aunt of the driver of the accident on Dabbs Bridge Road on 5/25.  I would like to thank the good Samaritans who helped the adult passenger hold the three year old and the woman who gave them a blanket to sit on.  We wish to say how sorry we are to the couple in the SUV.

Information. my grand nephew was 6 years old.  The family was going the long way home from swimming to see the horses first.  There were quite a few comments about an accident not 3 hours afterwards.  No one knows what happened except the girlfriend in the car.  Please don't throw stones until you know what happened.  Also if you are a perfect driver, let me see you walk on water.

The father loves his kids and this was an accident.  It wasn't because of stupidity or drugs or drinking or speeding.  It was a true accident.  Please understand walk in this father's shoes before condemning him.  Understand his and the mother's pain.  The kid was put on this earth for a reason and when his work was done, God took him to be an angel.  I hope that everyone will figure out why he was sent here.

How many accidents and deaths will have to occur on this road before our government officials will do something about it.  It took over 15 years just to get the red light at 41.

    grieving aunt

grievingaunt, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm a father of two myself and I drive that road twice a day and know just how dangerous it can be when you encounter someone driving at a high rate of speed. However, having spoken with one of the drivers of the cars that Rodney was attempting to pass(yes, he was trying to pass TWO cars on a curve), I can tell you that the only "accident" was trying to pass on a curve when there was an SUV coming the other way. Just so everyone knows, there is not one place on Dabb's Bridge road where it is OK to pass. I'm not sure what HE told you or if you were even there. I only know what I was told by a direct eye-witness. Per the witness, Rodney came up from behind him at a high rate of speed and after a few miles of weaving back and forth, he decided to make an attempt at passing. I have seen instances like this time and again. I wish there was some way to make people understand that sometimes being in a hurry just isn't worth it. :( Once again, not trying to cast stones. Just stating what I have heard from a credible source.
