  1. Thanks for your service to our country and county! I know you will be missed.

    RIP Deputy Davis

    RIP Deputy Davis.

What about his family? Did he have a wife? Children? Grandchildren?

It is my understanding he does not have any local family. His parents live out of state, I can't remember where now. I am not sure about children, he had a girlfriend that lived out of state also.

  2. Please make sure to vote. I'm not sure if it is working this way in Paulding, however I know that in DeKalb if you are outside and have a child with you, they will move you to the part of the line that is indoors.

They did not move anyone with kids up in the line at the main voting location when i was there today. I sure wish they would have (and probably everyone around me!)!! My son was a big pain 750% of the 1 hour it took! I almost left, but we were so close!

Catater - If you are in Paulding, I heard that Mt. Tabor has an indoor wait. Go when they first open if you have to take the munchkins!

    Please everyone go vote!!!!!!!

  3. Cheffy-

Thanks so much for the delicious food you delivered! My friends were quite pleased! Cheffy whipped up some potato and bacon chowder soup, caesar salad, corn bread, and low sugar chocolate cake. It was cheap and big hit!!!

    Thanks!!! Karen

  4. Good greif. I was just trying to point out to the OP that it is not a good idea to "hunt down" the criminal herself. Thanks for the law lesson. I wasn't looking for a debate, you people are way to serious first thing in the A.M. You win. Happy?

Nor did I and I apologize, I just was asking an honest question.

You are welcome on the little lesson... B) I am not looking for a debate, I just think if we are going to talk about arrest procedures we should get it right. I am not trying to debate you, you just sort of jumped on the OP and made some assumptions yourself. Gotta love PCOM!

By the way, I agree no one should "hunt down" a criminal, however, I don't think the OP would not have done anything if she found the vehicle other than get a tag number.

So OP correct me if I am wrong...

    Anyone got a good joke.....

  5. Ahhh, now we are actually getting somewhere, the bus stop is a valid concern. I think my point about the backyard was missed, thats OK. The SO has no choice to charge if the person being stalked wants to press charges, the DA could elect to not persue the case.

I got your point about the backyard and I agree with you. However, I also think you let your kids play out front you need to watch them and teach them to get out of the road when cars are approaching.

Now, as for pressing charges - the SO can advise warrant procedures and the "victim" can go to the warrant office and swear out a warrant and a judge will decide whether or not to issue a warrant. LEO's don't have to make an arrest if they don't think the law was broken or if they don't have a enough evidence to prove their case. Citizens can take out warrants. The DA can elect not to pursue the case if there is not enough evidence. But LEO's have a duty (as do judges) to make sure there is enough evidence to make an arrest.

IMO - the OP was not stalking and I think LEO's would agree. Based on what the OP wrote, it sounds to me like the OP drove through a parking lot looking for a vehicle so she could give police more information.

    Next...

  6.

I think the point is, it was time for school and kids can't wait for the bus stop in their back yard! The OP was upset by the stupidity and irresposiblity of the drivers. Most adults don't act they the OP described.

I also paid for the whole yard my house sits on and if I choose to allow my kids to play out front then I will keep an eye on my children to make sure they get away from the street when cars are coming.

Oh, and I hardly think the SO would charge anyone with stalking...

  7. Aspen's can be pricey. I have never eaten there, but my brother loves it. He spent about $100 the first time he went with his wife. I believe they did order an appetizer.

Provinos in Douglasville is good. I have not eaten at that one, only the one in Kennesaw on Barrett Pkwy. As for Italian, I love Ippolitos in Kennesaw or Scalinis in Smyrna.

Other Restaurants at the West Cobb Avenues are Macaroni Grill, Chili's, and Ted's Montana Grill.

Gumbeaux's is a good place to eat too if you want cajun food.

The Italian place in Acworth is called Fusco's and I have eaten there before, it was good, but I think Provino's is better.

  8. I am 29, married (10 years in March of 2009) with 2 beautiful kids, girl - 3 1/2, boy - 17 mo.

I am a SAHM! Before I had my daughter I was a paralegal for a lawfirm in Smyrna.

I graduated from Sprayberry HS in 1997. My dad and brother are two of my heros, both police officers! I am a huge supporter of law enforcement and military.

I love to ride my Harley with my husband. I enjoy my church, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.

I was born and raised in Cobb Co. (Kennesaw) and moved to Paulding when I got married.

Edited to add: For anyone that wants to stalk me and my family - I own 3 Glocks, a couple of shot guns, and an AR - and I know how to shoot them all really well...

  9. We are going in June and we are looking to make reservations for a room and everything else. We would like to make some dinner reservations with the characters. Just looking for pros and cons on going to Disney. We will have a 8,3 & 1 year old. We didnt plan on going for a few more years, like when the youngest was 3, but my oldest is dancing in disney, so we HAVE to go so may as well make a trip of it! We stayed in the pop century hotels beforr, and want to go a step up this time and stay in something a little nicer. We are going for 5 days. So tell me what to do and what not to do!!!

    Take me with you!!!!!!!!!!! j/k

I enjoyed the 50's cafe at MGM or Hollywood studios, whatever they call it now. This one is not a character dinner/lunch, but it is still fun. I have done the character dinner at Epcot in the revolving restaurant. It was a lot of food and delicious too!

    Have a great time!

  10. I had to take my 3yr old to CHof Atl on Wed evening because she had a fever 105!! The doctor said it was viral because she had not other symptoms. We got home and she started vomiting. The ER called me on Thursday and said her strep test came back positive. She is fine now. We stayed home from church because my 17mo old has started runnig a fever 102 or less! I guess I will be taking him to the doctor in the morning!

  11. After some events of today I firmly believe the SO has no clue where to look or who to question. They are grasping for straws. And I can say this because I know this man.

He is awake, alert, in pain, mad, confused, and wants to know who did this. We spoke to him on the phone a little bit ago.

I hope the SO gets some leads so they can find this person.

Will he make a full recovery?

  12. Man shot 20 feet my son

    Possible weapon out there

Possible Man out there with a gurge

36 hours into investigation and still don't if or we should be watching for whom.

    NO PROBLEM

Look, I understand your concerns. It sounds like you and your wife can protect your family if this threat or any other threat were to come back around. The SO is investigating and when the suspect has been arrested they will put out a press release. The will also put out a press release when more information about the suspect has been gathered. So until they do put out a press release saying an arrest has been made, obviously he is still out there and you need to be more careful and more alert around your home.

As for the gun, you should tell your son if he finds one, and this goes for anyone, NOT TO TOUCH IT. Immediately call the SO.

I don't believe the suspect tossed the gun. More than likley he kept and tossed it later somewhere less likely for the SO to find it or he still has it.

WD - as hard as it will be you are gonna have to sit back, relax a little, and wait while the SO/GBI conducts their investigation.

Lets use some common sense people!

  13. Can I just tell you that there is ALWAYS a threat? It doesn't matter if a crime has been committed or not for there to be a threat that one WILL BE committed. You should always take safety precautions whether this was next door or next city, doesn't matter. Stop bashing the SO--they do all they can and can only go so far that is why there is the GBI and FBI, if needed. What you need to do is #1=breathe, #2 relax, and #3 hold your family tight tonite and thank God that this wasn't your family and pray for the family that it did happen to because one day it just might be You and I assure you that you will want all the prayers you can get!

    Very good post!!

WD has good reason to be upset and worried. I would be upset if this happened next door to me as well.

WD you might want to call the SO and talk to the deputy in charge of the investigation to get answers to some of your questions. But remember the SO is only going to give out information that will be helpful to the investigation. If they have not found the suspect, they will give out a description when/if they have one. Be nice to the SO and they are more likley to work with you. If you go to the SO with an attitude it will only make communications with them worse.

We are responsible for the safety of our family -- so take precautions. Keep your doors locked -- home and cars. Be aware of your surroundings!!! If you see something suspicous report it to the SO so they can investigate.

  14. Prayer said for this gentleman and his family.

I hope everyone understands that the police many times only give out sketchy details for very good reasons. They may know exactly who did it and don't want to let the general public clued in to every detail of their case so as to protect their case. The police may have an idea as to who the suspect is and don't want to tip off the suspect so that the police can make an arrest.

Sometimes we just need to know that we should lock our doors and stay inside for our own safety and the details will follow when we need to know them.

  15. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Petrosky at Plastic Surgery Center of the South in Marietta off of Vann Street.

    www.plasticsurgerycenterofthesouth.net

He is board certified and has a great bedside manner. His staff is great also. If you have any questions, send me a PM and I will answer them.

  16. How is it that these asshats go to college yet it takes them 2 hours to count 25 pills?????? TOW is possibly havin surgery tomorrow to have my gall bladder removed. I get a Rx for darvacet for pain and cipro. We went to the kroger on 278 at 61 and they said I had 75 Rx in front of me and it would be tomorrow before the Rx would be ready. Could someone please explain what takes so damned long?

Tow - I was at the same pharmacy this morning and they were swamped! I waited about 45 min for mine. I didn't stand there - I left and came back. That is always a busy pharmacy though. Good luck with the surgery!

  17. I have a one year old, and was curious if there is anything in the area that has Toddler friendly activies on or around Halloween that she can dress up for. I doubt we make it to Trick or Treating int he neighborhood since she falls asleep before it gets dark!

Faith Community Church is having Trunk or Treat beginning at 6pm on Oct 31. We will have games, a huge slide, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and hopefully a rock wall! The church is located at 305 North Burnt Hickory Rd off of Brownsville Rd.
