  2. Msrealtormom,

I have a few things for the girls, 2 pair of shorts, the tags still on, and a couple of blouses.

Let me know when you will be meeting someone and where.

    Hello,

I can pick them up from you or meet you somewhere tomorrow if you like. Just let me know, whatever is easiest for you. Feel free to call me (404) 217-0861 and we can set it up.

    Thanks so much.......MANDY

  3. I sent you a pm, I have clothes for the girl, some for the little boy. I have toys for the little boy and a 6 all in one game(pool, airhockey, basketball, darts, and?) that is brand new that they both can enjoy.

    Hi Nicole,

Thank you very much......as i have stated earlier in my thread I will be happy to go around and pick up items that you have to donate and take to the sister's house or wherever they need it to go.

My daughter goes to school with the two girls and she said they told her today that they each have 7 outfits each and a pair of shoes. So i am sure anything you have would be appreciated...we just need to make sure they have room for anything donated as they are staying with different families until things get settled with the insurance company.

Any questions feel free to call me (404) 217-0861. I should be talking with Stephanie later on tonight.

  4. Thank you everyone for your support and donations. I will find out today if the family has a place to store everything and what is needed immediately. I will also find out if anyone is setting up a bank account and if not i will try and take care of that for money donations. The p.com community chest is threatening to shut down this post without more info and i can understand that, but i will get the info as soon as i can. Things are a little crazy at the moment.

AGAIN THANK YOU EVERYONE. I Will have more info tonight.

  5. i know i have some extra shoes that i can donate. where are the donations to be made?

also, do you know of what their other immediate needs are?

I will gladly meet or pick up donations. I have asked a neighbor of theirs to find out what they need right away, will let everyone know as soon as i know. Thank you everyone!!

  6. Where does the child attend school? I would make sure to let the counselors know first thing Monday morning if not send them an e mail over the weekend.

Please keep us updated. Depending on the size of the father/husband, I may have some clothes for him.

I will be keeping the family in my prayers.

Yes they go to Dugan and actually the principle was in the sub cutting someone's grass when the fire started, so he was there and I am sure he will make sure the girls are taken care of with the counselors next week, if they even go for the last week of school.

  7. Is this off Cleburne Pkwy?

A neighbor of ours was coming through there today when the house was on fire. He said the loss looked like it would be total, and that the WORST part of it was all the people driving down the dead end street trying to see something and blocking emergency personnel. <_<

I'm so sorry for the family's loss. Once things are clear about what they need, I may have a few things to help. Right now I'd guess collecting household goods would be problematic until the family has a new place to stay.

No this was over in Emerald Point sub off of Senator rd, which is off of Bakers Bridge rd. But the loss is total. There is literally NOTHING left but a pile of rubble and smoke.

I will update on clothing as soon as I find sizes.

  8. Do you have a bank account set up in the families name for donations?

Is the Redcross giving them assistance? Did they have any homeowners?

I do not know all the detaills yet. My daughter was in the neighborhood with another friend when she called me screaming that their house was on fire. I drove over there a few minutes ago but there are so many people and firemen running around i just decided to wait to get more info. I just know they will need ALOT of help....i can't imagine what they must be feeling. Just want to help if I can and know the people on here have always responded so quickly when someone has needed it. I hope to get more info tonight or in the morning when things have calmed down a bit.

  9. Earlier tonight one of my daughter's good friends house burnt to the ground. The family dog and husband were inside, the husband got out in time, the dog did not. This family has lost EVERYTHING including their car. They have two girls both are 11 and a three yr old boy.

Please keep them in your prayers and if anyone has any house hold items, clothes, toys etc.... to donate let me know. I will be getting the children's and parents clothing sizes if anyone wants to donate money or help me shop for them let me know as well.

    THANKS!

  10. Oh, that's good to know! I really dont think she would, but with kids, you never know!!!!! She hasn't asked to be dropped off at the movies, but I just figured I'd throw that out there, too! (getting prepared!! ^_^ ) I've seen the kids walking from the movies up to the shopping center... and hanging out behind the shopping center. <_< I think my hubby is going to be one of those daddy's who's "cleaning the shotgun" when the first boy comes around!!!

That is my husband's favorite song! We have THREE girls and one boy. He says he will play that song whenever the girls have a date come in to pick them up!! And God help them if they pull up in a van...he says he will shoot first and ask questions later :)

  11. I know how you feel...i also have a 13yr old..who will be 14 in a couple of weeks. Very mature for her age and responsible. I allowed her to go to the all night skate at sparkles a couple of weekends ago and she LOVED it. She said there were several police officers that stayed throughout the night and no one was allowed to go out unless a parent when in to get them. I was terrified of letting her go but finally agreed.

Now the movies I don't think i would do yet.....i remember when i was that age and we would say we were going to the movies, get dropped off and turned around and leave with friends. So i am not that trusting yet. Plus a lot of the older kids hang out there as well.

  12. Oh that cell phone would SO be gone! And definitely make them BOTH work to pay the bill. And if one is 18 is there a reason she isn't already working??

I would have fainted and then the police would have had to be called to keep me away from her! There would be no more cell phone until she could buy one and pay for it herself!

  13. COOL!!! I have some pictures taken in a cemetary that have some similar "white markings in them" but they are much brighter and almost look like electrical currents! Freaked me out when i got them.

  14. Should journalists be compelled to name thier source?

James Risen is a NY Times reporter. His 2006 book, State of War, had a chapter that stated a confidential source told him that the CIA had attempted to infiltrate Iran's nuclear program during the Clinton administration.

Now a Federal Grand Jury has subpoened him to name the source.

    He's fighting it.

    Here's the article.

I think it depends on the situation.....i can see why they wouldn't want to becuase then who would tell them anything.?!

  15. I just spoke with a friend of mine that has some storage buildings at his apartment complex he owns and he said he will check tomorrow and see what he has empty and weill be glad to let us use one or two of them!! They are not big units just like 10 x 12......but better than nothing!

I will call Kay tomorrow and let her know for sure. They are located right there off of hwy 278 before you get to Dallas Hwy.

  16. Unionmom that would be awesome. We already have people calling with food that is non parishable and clothes. I would love to see a storage facility offer some temporary space to us!

Please remember we will need washers, dryers, furniture ect... as well.

I have a washer and dryer I can donate. Don't know how much longer they will last.....but they work! Just need someone to get them from my rental property in Winston.

  17. My net check on a sale price of $209,900 was $6,794.62. How much would your net have been on the same sales price?

PS- I know the answer to that question.

The big name doesn't matter, how you run your business matters.

I know the name doesn't matter, and you know it doesn't matter.....but unfortunately there are consumers out there that won't list or buy with you unless you are with a big name.

    Sorry for hijack guys!

  18. So, I have been out of work since the beginning of November. My last interview was in the beginning of December, in spite of having sent out hundreds of Resumes.

I got an email (thank God I checked it!) tonight around 10:30, for an interview at 8:00 tomorrow morning. I am so excited to at least get an interview, but it is off of Windy Hill, and I am over here in South Paulding somewhere. And now I can't even fall asleep!

    Yay!

    That's great!! GOOD LUCK!!!
