  1. CENSUS IS STILL HIRING! Call 706-463-4300 to schedule an application time and test site. Don't delay!!! We need to be counted!
  2. As many of you may know Paulding County has grown quite a bit over the last 10 years. In fact, we have surpassed Douglas County in the number of residents in 2008. This means we need more representatives in the State House and the US Congress and the only way we can get those extra representatives is to "officially" count all people living in Paulding County. That means we need people to help do this work. THAT IS WHY WE NEED YOU to work for the 2010 Census here in Paulding County! Please call 1-866-861-2010 to arrange for a day and time to apply and test for the jobs that are available. It
  3. New info about timing of jobs and actual census forms .... "In March, the vast majority of the population will receive their questionnaires at their homes, most of them through the Postal Service. April 1 is census day. We ask everybody to return their forms by April 1. And we hope everyone does so. But if they don’t, starting in May, and from May through July, we’ll have a large set of people going throughout the country knocking on the doors of those folks who weren’t able to return their questionnaires, and we’ll do interviews with them in a face-to-face way." I want to remind
  4. You just wait for a call. That is all you can do. Remember, most jobs are not until mid-March early April...so be patient. Have a great day. Joan Lanoie - US Census Recruiting Assistant - Paulding County
  5. Call 1-866-861-2010. I believe I have another one scheduled at the Chamber on another Friday morning but you HAVE TO CALL. (Not trying to nasty by using caps, I just want to make sure that EVERYONE realized that the ONLY way to get into a test site is by calling and scheduling. That is true everywhere.) I can tell you that I will have 28 people that were supposed to be at the Chamber test site today and they will all be trying to get into one of my test sites and they are filling up fast. Our test sites usually are closed at 25 people soooo.... call is all I can say. I look forward to seein
  6. I thought I posted this morning...US Census was closing all test sites; however, we did proceed with the one at the Chamber and had 8 people show up. And "ImRight" you are correct! Using common sense is imperitive. I look forward to seeing everyone of you who would like a "temporary/part-time" job! Thanks, Joan - US Census Recruiting Assistant - Paulding County
  7. I look forward to seeing many of you at 9:00 AM at the Chamber of Commerce - no matter the weather! The Chamber may be closed but we are supposed to still proceed with the application process. Be prepared to be there approximately 2 hours! Thanks everyone for talking and spreading the word. You are right, we need to make sure EVERYONE is counted in Paulding County so we are fairly represented in the State Capital and in the US Congress. (Not to mention appropriations for our district.) Oh...the application process is on Friday 1/8/10. There are others scheduled...call 1-866-861-2010
  8. Subby, I enjoyed doing the Census in 2000 and you are right, they train you how to proceed and common sense is important. Being kind and respectful is helpful. Understanding the importance of it makes it easier to do. Also, I want to thank you for repairing my lawn mower over the summer. You did a great job. Maybe I will see you at one of my test sites soon. Thanks, JOAN
  9. I am glad to see such interest. Let me give some more input. Yes JohnnyJ, the pay currently is according to the website $11.-- in the "rural areas" which Paulding is concidered. It is higher, in other areas and it is my understand that the rate will be going up after the first. I applied in late November and was offered a job in early December. The earlier you make application the sooner they MAY call you. There is no guarantee, just increased possibility. Most jobs are for short periods of times. To the issue of the importance of the Census and whether it really makes a difference a
  10. The Census forms are mailed to individuals and they are suppose to be returned. If they do not receive them back that is when I understand that the actual door to door process begins. All Census workers will have a white badge with Red White and Blue coloring and will have their signature on it. I hope this answers your question. 11. We need to have Paulding County represented accurately in the US Congress and in the State Capital. Part of that is having an accurate count of the people in the county. We need a large pool of workers to help with the job. If you are interested in a temporary jobs which pays well go to the website www.2010uscensusjobs.gov or call 1-866-861-2010 to arrange to apply and complete a general test. Your county needs you! I look forward to meeting you. I am the US Census Recruiter for Paulding County - Joan Lanoiebusiness card.pdf
