  1. I do not have a radio or t.v. at work, so my husband called me, and I thought it was a joke. Alas, it was not.

I rushed over to his job, and we sat with our preacher, God rest his soul, and watched as the towers came down.

We were gripped for hours, but I decided to turn it off when I realized that it was upsetting my children. But, they insisted I keep it on, so that we could pray for all the people yet to be found. So we held our own little vigil, and cryed our eyes out.

  2. I work with truck drivers, so I would not have a problem living next to someone who drove a truck as long as it was not in the street, and that is due to safety issues, not how it looks.

Having a truck parked in their yard does not make them bad people or make your house look bad. That's like saying you wouldn't buy a house because the house next door is green or they have too many pear trees. The dog issue does make them bad neighbors and you should call the animal control until they pick the animal up.

My husband has drove a truck in years past and sometimes it was necessary for him to drive the truck home, but my neighbors never complained, in fact it tickled all the kids to death because he would blow the horn as he went by. In fact, there are several people in my neighborhood who have to drive their service vehicles home, and I would never claim it to be an eye sore. They have to have a way to work. Your just already upset with them about the kid's mess and the dog's poo, and now the truck is an issue.

  3. You are correct, alot of people do know the score, although I'm not sure what score your talking about, since you are the one that brought us off topic talking about the church.

Again, if you want to bring up the seperation of church and state, and bash one, you cannot condone the other's methods of using a church roster as a political mailing list.

    I will pray for you.

  4. One more thing... it is obvious and clearly known by most why my family does not attend the church anymore. It has nothing to do with any campaign, but alot to do with grief.

Church is all about being fulfilled and since my pastor passed away, God rest his soul, I have not been fed.

  5. dancingfool, since you found it neccesary to bring the church into it, when you stated that this campaign has divided said church, I have to ask...

Why did my husband, myself, MY CHILDREN, and another family member recieve an invitation from another church member to an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social in honor of Jerry Shearin? We all received seperate invitations, sent to our previous address so am I to assume that our church records, baptism records were used as a mailing list for a campaign????

  6. Pubby, are you reading these posts???? How much longer are you going to allow this libelous garbage to remain on here?

Is this what this campaign has come to? Dancingfool should be ashamed of theirselves, and I believe they know why!!

  7. Pubby,

I have to say that I rely on other issues that I feel strongly about, some of which are not to be discussed here.

If I were a liberal, I would not support Kerry. I don't like the way he changes his mind on issues that I feel should come from the heart, issues that are based on morals. And while I admit, most, not all of the research I have done on John Kerry have been GOP related essays or news sources, I have to say that I stand firm in my beliefs. Maybe that is not being objective, but I have my own beliefs, not ones distilled from childhood or my family. And I would have to support someone whose beliefs are as close to mine.

It's not all cut and dry, you cannot look at someone and tell what kind of person they are, or what kind of president they will be, I wish it were that simple. But I have heard him speak, and I can't help but feel that he would not be what our country needs. But, you will be happy to know, that although I do not agree with John Edwards, I like him,he is well-spoken, and I would probably enjoy having coffee with him, if for nothing else, to debate issues.

Pubby, are you picking on me??? I have to make it to the next meet and greet, I want to introduce myself.

  8. The thing that really ticks me off the most is when I am on the phone with a customer, someone comes in my office and starts talking, and after I tell them I will be right with them, they keep right on talking!!!

Or when someone "listens" to my phone conversations and has the nerve to ask me questions aout it. Beginning their sentence with....I didn't mean to easedrop. If you do hear a conversation, at least have the decency not to ask questions. WE KNOW YOUR LISTENING!

  9. Since Kerry is against all that I am for and vice-versa, I would have to say that he is bad.

Since I respect George Bush and how he has handled himself thus far, I have to say he is good. I have heard over and over that he is not a good public speaker, well I am not a good public speaker either. I am not the president, but I would hope that people would not be judged for their speech, OR THEIR SPELLING!! We could judge our presidental candidates by their looks also, (sorry, Kerry, but I'm not pretty either) but that would not make any sense. Some people cannot express themselves verbally, but that doesn't make them dumb or incompetent.

I thought I might vomit while watching the Kerry interview on Meet the Press from app. 1970 or so. He's a good speaker alright, but his words come out as garble to me.

  10. Cableman, so sorry to hear about your loss. It is especially hard, I agree, the way you lost him. Take some time to grieve and then go to the animal shelter and adopt another, in Bear's honor.

It blows my mind how someone could run over a dog, twice, and not even stop. I slam on the brakes to avoid squirrels, mind you.

Animals are God's gift to us, our special companions that love us unconditionally, and you'll always have your memories.

  11. After all of the controversy surrounding Mike Tyson, I would hope that he would retire quietly. <_< He's already made a big fool of himself anyway. I am sick of hearing about it. And... my opinion was only after much research. Just because he is a "good boxer" doesn't mean he's a good person.

  12. antew, good luck and God bless. My husband and I also have talked about adopting one day, when we are better off financially. He wants to wait til our boys are a little older, he seems to think that I will develop the "empty nest syndrome"

  13. I don't care how long his hair gets, he is an excellent ball player, one which I think the Falcons should "protect" a little more! He cannot always carry the whole game his self, and sometimes he is forced to. Seems to me that we need 10 more Michael Vick's on the team.

The laugh will be on all the nay-sayers when the Falcons do win a Super Bowl. I can say "I was a fan from the beginning!" not just when they played well. This is our team and they deserve our support win or lose!

Or we can continue as with the Braves, support them when they are on top, drop em when they lose.
