  1. YMCA in Hiram is the best!!! Their report on the Bright from the Start website is above and beyond what's expected!!

My daughter goes to Childrens Palace right off Bill Carruth between the water dept and Hwy 278. Shes been there since 7months old and I love it there. They have great teachers, prices, and when they sign back up for prek this Aug they will have the GA funded if you need it.

You can go and tour them too if you want. I have tried YMCA and they are good but was disappointed on their prices and also how unpersonal the front personel were when I went. Childrens Palace is very much like a family and they do alot for the kids!! call them at 770-943-0058 and ask for Angie or Samantha (the director and asst. director!)

  2. To better aid those in need and make it easier to make donations, United Community Bank in Hiram (off hwy 92 just behind the Superwalmart across the street from Noahs Ark Daycare) will be taking the following items to in turn be distributed to West Ridge Church to those who lost items from the flooding:

*CLOTHING AND SHOES IN GOOD CONDITION

*NEW TOOTH BRUSHES AND NEW TOILETRIES

    *NEW SOCKS

    *DIAPERS AND WIPES

    *NEW BOTTLES

    *SMALL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

If there are items that you have and you would like to donate but its not on the list, feel free to call West Ridge at 770-222-2125. They may accepting different items later on in the weeks to come as more and more people are coming to them for help.

You can also reach us at UCB should you have any questions for us at 770-943-4111

    Thanks!

  3. We are planning a trip to Orlando/Disney for next year. I'm trying to get together some info on different places to stay.

I am looking for a resort/condo community that is very close to Disney and preferably one that offers a shuttle service to the park. Something that is also kid friendly - My daughters will be 4 and one a little over 1 yr old when we go.

Anybody have recommendation of places you've stayed before and have been pleased with?

So my husband and 4 kids just got back 2 weeks ago from there and we had the most fun and stayed in the BEST hotel. We had shuttle to and from the parks (we went to 3 parks) and had a full breakfast included and tues-thurs they have complimentary dinner too. The rooms were like apartments b/c they had 2 bdrms and a kitchen and even living room area and 2 bathrooms. They have 1 bdrms if thats all you need. Its Staybridge Suites in orlando. We got our reservations and tickets to the park through a customer of mine who is a travel agent. If you want to call her, her name is Billie Dendy and its Five Star Vacations in marietta. She will research you the best deals and can get you so much for so little. Like I said....we got 3 parks (6 people; all adults) and 4 days 3 nights at the hotel and paid under $2000. If you want to call her and see what other deals they have she can work well with you. her number is 770-421-0141. We really got alot with our package. We were within walking distance of everything else. we never drove our car once down there. we had a grocery next door and shopping all within just blocks and beautiful area. heated outdoor pool for days there was cool and a hot tub and a kiddie pool too. Hope I helped. But do call Billie b/c if anything she can look and price you some great deals.

  4. Any ideas?

Go to downtown Rockmart. There is a park there that the silver comet trail runs through that is very nice. There is a gazebo, lots of great Oaks that run along the river, great little green spots with just the right amount of sunshine and shade to give a great add. If you have the right photographer you can get alot from this place and its not too far. And when you are done hit some of the restaurants around there for a great lunch. My husband and I did engagement pics and family pics here with our 4 kids. We even got out in the middle of the river bed on some rocks where the water was low and it was so cool. we made those black and white and they turned out great!

Other than that, I know Hiram park has some nice spots but it can get busy there and its not as big so you would have to check it out and do it during the week when not alot of people were there. Good luck!

  5. Well now that he wants to support the baby, I would go to the state for child support and then give the info to him as he will have to pay support. The service will take the money right out of his check and send it to the mom.

I bet once he finds out that he will lose money, he'll back off quite quick.

After all that is done I would go about seeing how to terminate his rights.

agree with everyone else. If he wants the info, first go to chidl support recovery and have them put him in the system. make it that any money issue to him with his SSN in tact you get that money. The service will make sure it gets to you. and since he is going into the service you can bet with all the training and deploys he shouldnt be trying to come around. Goodluck and I know its hard. my ex has never been apart of my daughter and my life or at least not as him and I and her together. and everyday he sees her it is still hard and she is 4. but I dont think you have to worry about that right now with him.

  6. that 92 was shut down at 278 and Fitzgerald Street -- Isn't that near the REgions bank on 92?

We have to go to Taylor Farm tonight -- we live in Acworth/Dallas area off 92 -- Should we take another way?

We don't have to leave here till 5:15 normally!!!

    Any help would be appreciated!!

they are shutting it down they are wanting to remove a car from a ditch from the wreck shortly. I am sitting here on 92 just feet away from the wreck and traffic is moving right now. you can try it or if you have time, go a different route to be safe. but b/c they are only having the wrecker remove the car it should not be long. I would say go for it.

  7. police officer is going to be okay. someone pulled out in front of him and police officer swerved to miss. guy that pulled out in front took off but someone got tag # so that idiot will be caught for leaving the scene of an accident. Cop hit his head and cut it open and he is real banged up. headed to the ER now but overall he should be okay. just sore. dont know about the wreck on williams lake but lets just keep this police officer in our prayers that he heals and gets better.

I heard sirens a while ago but I have no idea if this is the same accident or not

  8. United Community Bank of Hiram off Hwy 92 behind the super walmart is holding a special relay 4 life fundrasier. The employees have all decorated and filled individual stockings to a theme and have them displayed in the branch for customers to come in and not only vote on but enter to win one. Each vote is just $1 and you can enter in to win as many as you want as many times as you want.

The stockings are "Vera Bradley", "Movie", "Woman's", "Georgia Bulldogs", "Nascar", "Chocolate Lovers", and "Kitchen". As I said they are all nicely packed full of goodies and we will be drawing 7 winners on December 23rd to allow the winners to have them picked up before Christmas. Please stop by and enter in to win. If you have any questions or would like the contents of the stockings you can call the bank at 770-943-4111. Help us fight the battle of cancer!!!

  9. yeah they were making an arrest on a guy from Cobb County. Apparently someone who worked in law enforcement over there. Didnt want the kids from the school to be near when it happened. I think they had anticipated a BIG fight. Dont know the outcome of it yet.
