  1. I'm probably the only one on the board who used the Dixie Speedway track photographer for my wedding. rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif

However, the wedding pictures were great. BUT, he LEFT to go to another event and we were left with his wife for the reception. I was very disappointed with those. :( My reception pics were more like snapshots anyone could have taken than really capturing the event.

 I had a crime scene photographer for my wedding!

  2. I do not know how they think you shouldn't talk to them if you have their child. Are they not coming to pick their child up? I was saying call the Police though and let them handle it if it is getting ugly. Not much you can really do.

I do not think there would be a warrant for childs arrest. Maybe a missing child report is all they could file. I am no cop though (unless abuse was involved)

17 and up is eligible for an "adult" warrant.

  3. She hasn't actually abandoned him. Yes she moved away and left him here, but she's still in contact. She calls mom and stuff, but just isn't a true mother to her son. I know that sounds wierd and judgemental, but I don't know how else to put it. I look at abandoning as what my son's father did. Bolted, and never looked back. At least she looks back.

She did abandon him. In GA child abandonment is failure to provide food/shelter/support($) for more than 30 days. It doesn't matter that she is in contact, she isn't doing anything for him. You are doing the right thing.

  4. The reason I'm asking is because there is a fly that can lay larvae in the flesh of animals. I usually see it in the neck, but it can be anywhere. It could look like a bullet hole The hole will appear to breathe, because the larvae inside is breathing air. You just have to watch it to see if this is the case. Sometimes, you can see it poke its little head out. If so, you can pull it out and clean the wound, and it *should* be fine and do your best to keep the wound clean, and keep him from licking it too much.

  5. I think State AG is responsible for shutting a place down. As for a limit to the amount of animals, unless you live in a city that has a limit, there is none, they just have to be well maintained and cared for. You can have 40 cats as long as they are in clean conditions, receive medical treatment when necessary, etc. Hope this helps :)

  6. I stopped in at the old location a while back out of curiosity. It was disgusting!!! The cages and some puppies were covered in dried feces, and she told me and the other lady that were in there that she had just stepped out for about 30 minuted and no one cleaned while she was gone, and she would wash them with some joy/dawn dish detergent. It looked more like no one had cleaned anything for 2 days or more. It was really sad.

  7. I'm pretty sure you can report the incident to Animal Control and they will quarantine the animal. Now, I'm an animal lover but if a dog will bite a person unprovoked what do you think it might do to the child in the home. Just my thoughts. I would report it.

    Report it!!!

Most dogs that act like that will behave even worse when around other animals. (the pack effect)

Suppose the dog later attacks a child, how would you feel then?

Report it. The dog will be quarantined for a week and then the owner can get it back. I'm not one to get the owner in trouble or ask for compensation, but you need to know if the dog is ok. The owner will probably get fined so that should be enough for him/her to get the point.

Yea, I've seen the dog out in the yard before. He has run towards me but never did anything but bark at me. And the girl was in the driveway up by the house. She was no where near me when he attacked.

Dang, I don't want no shots snik. Just dang!

I was bitten on the arm summer before last. I went to the ER, no stitches required BUT, I had to take strong antibiotics for 10 days; I had to wash the wounds with a disinfectant they gave me; I had to soak it in warm salts water for several days;I had to go to the doctor the next day with it and again in either ten days or a week. They should have given me a tetanus shot oo , but they did not.

It was months before all the hard clots under the skin were absorbed back into my body.

Dog bites are very serious. They can get infected so easily.

So go get it treated right away. Don't worry if they have the dog quarantined. You do not want a small child bitten as bad as you have been,

I would ask that the owners pay the doctor and medicine bills.

Basically, I'm agreeing with the above. Report it to Animal Control ASAP!!! Animal bites can be pretty nasty, but you shouldn't have to get shots unless it shows signs of illness during he quarantine period. The dog should have been on a leash anyway.
