  1. I am a 27 year old, soon to be college graduate (2 classes away from a Bachelor in English at West Ga) that is looking for work in the Paulding county area. I am a single mother of a five year old boy, and I absolutely must find a source of income asap. I have years of experience in office, computer, customer service, and sales. I recently had to resign from my job at The Cheesecake Factory in Atlanta due to the long commute, coupled with my decision to finally complete my degree. I am willing to consider any type of position, but having a small child would make it hard for me to work too many nights or weekends. If anyone knows of an opening in the Paulding area please let me know. I am dependable, organized, hardworking, punctual, fast learning, and am able to talk to anyone. Please, please help if you can! Thank you!

Go to www.wellstar.com and search for jobs at paulding hospital - look at the nutrition assistant positions. It's a good job, work not to hard with decent pay and good benefits.

  3. Would you feel the same way if that same 16-year-old had killed someone else rather than himself? Would you want him punished as a "child," or as an adult?

If we believe that we should teach our children to be responsible for their actions, at what point should that teaching kick in? Sorry, but a teenager IS old enough to bear at least some of the burden when he screws up - even if an alleged adult has a hand in it.

I believe he did bear some of the burden for his actions - He is dead.

  4. Well if the truck hadn't arrived yet just after 9 when I passed, I don't know how in the heck the truck will get in and get to where it needs to go. The whole area was packed like a can of sardines. The police pulled up with flashing lights just after I drove by.

I just got home from filling up at the shell on east paulding next to publix - no lines - $4.29 for regular but i thought it was shady that they had paper over the buttons where you select the grade of fuel you want except for the most expensive - i just pushed the regular button through the paper and it worked fine. Give me a break.

  5. A friend of mine just called and told me that she heard there were some escaped prisoners seen at Wal-Mart on Dallas Highway and they headed south toward the Poplar Springs area? Anybody heard anything about this?

  6. Potty advice - NO PULL UPS!!!

Buy him some real underwear and plastic pants - you may have to order them but they work!! Put cheerios in the toilet and tell him to sink them. He will love it.

Put him in his bed and make him stay there. You need your rest and he does too. It may take a while but it will work eventually.

    Good Luck!!

  7. Years ago, when my children were small and I never got any sleep, my sleeping habits changed so much. I became a very light sleeper and the least little thing would wake me up. My doctor suggested sleeping with something running in my room like a fan, soft music, etc. I chose a small rotating fan that blows on the floor - it provides a quiet roar and now nothing wakes me up. It also drowns out those now teenagers when they come home late!!!

  8. Just my opinion - but I think if the legs need shaving and they are bothering her and causing others to make comments - Let her do it.

And I would let her wear a little make-up.

These are both small things in the scheme of life and can really be a painful thing to go through for teenage girls- you don't want her to feel 'left out' when there are much bigger things to worry about.

Personally, I let my daughter start shaving her legs and wearing a little make-up in the 7th grade - she is now almost 17 and wears very little make-up and complains about having to shave her legs!!!

  9. Yep, they usually do.......when I brought Maggie, who's now at 10 month old black lab and is bigger than Lily and Peanut, into "the family," it took a few days....

Lily, the mild mannered 40lb mixed corgi, is very laid back......Now, Peanut, the 7 lb mixed schnauzer, is a little princess diva with a streak!!

Peanut, all 7lbs of herself, will aggravate Maggie (now, about 50 lbs) to no end......its pretty funny at times!

Wow - That is pretty amazing - I have a 10 month old yellow lab named Maggie!!!!

  10. nae,

Thank you, but the angels are the ones who support the Shelter so that when these cases come in, there is HOPE! :) Without such community support, they'd just be put to sleep because no extra funds for care would be available. Without all those sheets, comforters and extra canned food, they'd just have the basics and a hard floor.

We are SO LUCKY to have such a caring group of supporters and all the Shelter Staff, Volunteers and Pets appreciate it so much!!!

Yes you are right Meltid we are SO LUCKY to have such a caring group fo supporters and all people at the shelter BUT we are also SO LUCKY to have you. I have witnessed you in action at that shelter and you are an angel in my book.

  11. I agree that you can't steal someone who can't be stolen BUT there are people out in the world who make it their job to cause problems and they can lie, steal, manipulate, etc.... to get what they want.

The truth actually will come out one day, though.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

  12. I have a few pieces of gold jewelry - some also include stones. They are from a previous relationship and I don't want them. Anyone had any luck selling this stuff do one of those "Buy your gold Jewelry" places?
