  1. I would say I am a #2 most of the time I think...or I really try to be a #2.

I have many people that I call "my friend" and know if I needed something, I could call them. (well maybe not now living 5,000 miles away) but when I was there I could. Ones that would call me and check on my when they havent heard from me in a few days.

I am a very open person and dont really hide behind walls - which sometimes causes me to trust too easy and end up getting hurt/burned in the long run.....but I wouldnt change it for anything.

You can still call me - I'll get on a plane as soon as I get that passport.... B)

I have a lot of "friends" but very few I really trust and count on. But, I would do anything for any one of them. :)

  2. My first wedding was a big church wedding with 7 bridesmaids and groomsmen, 150 guests, blah, blah, blah....beautiful dress, tuxes, orchids, organ and piano and guitars....the whole thing. It lasted 10 years, and I've been divorced for 15 years plus. If I was to ever try it again, it would be so simple. Just us, and the kids (all grown) barefoot on the beach at sunset. Then a huge party. Maybe in San Juan or Cozumel or somewhere like that.

  3. First off, Jr. didn't cause that wreck--it was all on Vickers.

I missed the National Anthem today--I was out and about at the start of the race. But whoever the girl was who sang it last weekend at the shootout did GREAT, in spite of the fact that the audio cut in and out on her performance. My husband was in Augusta watching, but as soon as she finished singing, he called me and said, "They need to have her sing it every weekend. It was PERFECT."

    Anyone remember who she was?

I saw that last week, and she was great. I can't remember who it was, and googling doesn't help.

  4. I didn't see it tonight, but he is a really good singer. He has the song Love Remains the same. He was on Extreme home makeover last week. But listen to his song it is so good.

"Love Remains the Same' is Gavin Rossdale - Gwen Stefani's husband, and former lead singer for Bush.

Gavin Degraw sings "In Love With A Girl" and "Chariot".

  5. Wasn't Jr.'s fault. Meathed Vickers forced him down, and when Jr. tried to move back up, he caught Vickers.

I was so glad to hear from Jr. what REALLY happened. There was no reason for Jr. to go below the yellow line (except the Vickers bumped him down there when he had a run on him), and there was even LESS reason for Vickers to block Jr.--IF he'd advanced a position it wouldn't have counted, because it was below the yellow line.

Which was exactly what Jr. said.

That one was all on Vickers. What a dummy. Then what a crybaby in the interview afterward, especially when he was the one at fault.

:clapping: Yep, yep, yep....What a crappy way to start the 2009 season - with a rain-shortened race!

Hopefully next week will be better....

  6. HOW EARLY???

Like 7:00 am - at least by daylight. They start lining up out in the road, and it takes forever to get everyone in.

    What is mudding

4 Wheel drives plus big giant mudholes, lots of fun! ;)

  7. Thanks for the info...........the website gives NO info!! Start and End Time? Directions? Anything???

    Thanks again!

How many people will be there?? Anyone know!!

My son and all his friends will be there.....they went Christmas Eve also. Gotta get there early.....

Is there some where to just sit and watch without getting covered in mud?

You can go and watch - but might end up muddy anyway. ;)

  8. My 4 trees have been up since the weekend before Thanksgiving - and I am enjoying them way too much to take them down just yet....I will wait next weekend - after the 1st. I just love watching the lights....

  9. Did your mother have three daughters and did you live on what used to be called the bypass? ;)

Actually there are 5 of us girls - and yes, we lived on the bypass....

ok..how many of you layed out of school to attend parties at Allatoona Lake???? Does anyone remember?

    September 20, 1978

  10. All of these things I remember....my mother was the first female police officer ever at the City of Dallas - I could never get away with anything!

The Judean Drive-In was our hangout just about every weekend - and Foster's had the best hamburgers anywhere. The old water tower at the old dump had everyone's name painted on it.....the Sheriff's Office was uptown - across from the Dallas New Era office.

  11. We always had a tradition of making a donut type bread called Vretees. My Dad taught us all how to make them at Christmas. When he passed 11 years ago, I took over and have now passed it on to my boys.

Even though we are not always together at Christmas - the boys make them themselves to continue the tradition.

    They are awesome!

I'll trade you some of that bread for some magic bars when I start baking..... and I make the best Christmas fudge ever! LOL

I get together with 3 or 4 close friends the Sat before Christmas....each person brings 4-5 cookie recipes and the ingredients. We start baking at 10 am....start drinking at 11 am....let the kids take over by Noon....continue drinking for the reminder of the day....order in pizza...and finish up around 9 pm. We usually have about 50 dozen cookies that we split up.....

    It's tons of fun!!! :D

And you always schedule on a day I have mandatory family functions......this year I will make you schedule it when I can be there! You need to taste my peanut butter cookies....they probably go great with lemon drops!
