  1. Okay, Okay!!!

I have never voted in a local election before...BUT I will this year. "Mr. Yard Sign Dude", gets my vote. That is one of the funniest things I have ever read. I have always been amazed at the amount of signs in Paulding County. I will never look at them the same way again. Now that so many different uses for the signs have been disclosed, I sure hope they all don't "dissappear" more rapidly. ;)

Shoot, some of them could be used to replaced the broken window on my Dodge Shadow. I could buy blue Duck tape to match!! I just wonder if I would feel the deep serenity the others felt, while I was driving?????? :p

  2. Of course he is going to be all over the TV this week. We had a whole WEEK of great coverage for President Reagan. Can't have too much positive coverage for a Republican, or any other president for that matter, without Slick Willy making his presence known. He can't think the public might "forget" about him.....

  3. We went to Stone Mountain last weekend. It was WONDERFUL. They have added so much for the kids to do. My 14 month old had a blast in the foam factory, AND they had hand sanitizer dispensers all over the place!!!! We bought Season Passes because there is so much to do. They have a new interactive treehouse and the old time town. They also have a beach and waterslides that are included in the price. There are tons more to do there. Just check it out the website for Stne Mountain Park.

  4. ok.. I understand the extra time waiting on car lines. I understand the frustration of running late. I also understand the importance of having a parent available to kids. The question was asked if the parents that drive their children to school, do they carpool? Well, do the people that are on their way to "work" carpool??? I love it when people say "you don't work?". If anyone believes homemakers do not "work", they have not been around the "homemakers" that take their JOB seriously. It is a blessing to have the ability to raise children and make the home a safe haven for the family. I am sorry there is so much resentment for the people who have chosen to not work outside of their homes. I think God everday that we are not a statistic of "spending 2o minutes" with our kids on a weekday.

  5. Dallard,

Doreen is right. We get so caught up in our own lives, time passes before we know it. I too have a hard time understanding some of the bahaviors of my own parents. I can not comprehend how ANY parent can turn their backs on their children. I have come to the realization that I can not let that affect my happiness. As hard as it is, you have to find forgiveness and move on. I do not mean to forget and act like it doesn't hurt, I mean to find forgiveness within yourself. You may never have a great relationship with your dad, but harboring resentment only hurts you. You CAN NOT find logic in illogical people. No matter how hard you try. Guilt has a amazing hold on people. Most people would rather live without lived ones than face their failures and ask for forgiveness. I don't know if you have kids of your own, but once you become the parent, it gets easier to focus on them and not on the past. It makes me very sad that parents and grandparents choose to miss such blessings. I would suggest calling him regularly. Not for him, but for you. It will make you sleep better at night. Good Luck. :)

  6. I have lived in Paulding County for 11 years. I have spoken to numerous Officers in Paulding County at varies times. I have never had a bad experience with any of them. I have to say, if anything, I have seen them go above and beyond to be polite. I am always impressed with the officers that take the time to speak to children. I appreciate ALL of them.

  7. The first one looks like a Mister Big to me. He is so small and puffed up like he is huge.

Shadow would be good for number two, since he is afraid of everything, even his shadow.

    They are so pretty.

  8. :( Why do people think they have to have the radio in their cars so loud you can't hear yourself think? I have noticed in the past few years, more and more people have their "music" up loud and the windows down at convenience stores. I have learned which stores not to go to because of smoking, but there is no way to escape the booming stereos. It is so rude and quite annoying. It scares my baby. Most of the time, the words that are coming out are crude and sometimes vulgar. If I wanted to hear the crap I would have MY radio on, or buy the cd.I just wish they would be ticketed or something. My favorite thing to see (or hear) is when someone leaves the car running and the radio up loud and go into the store!!! I am a firm believer in sharing, BUT somethings should be kept quite. I sure hope I am not the only one that feels this way. I just think it is increasing here in Paulding.
  9. Traveler,

I think you might be talking about a clearwing sphinx moth. It is about the same size as a hummingbird. I saw one last year and thought it was a cross between a hummingbird abd bubblebee. They are louder than hummingbirds. I found a site with a picture. www.pollinatorparadise.com

    Maybe this helps!! ;)
