  1. Call Debbie Crawford, cell 404-285-6506 office 678-838-4454. She is with Jeff Justice and Company. She is awesome. When we were selling our house % would never return calls no matter how many times she tried to get feed back. Debbie always returns calls and even unlocks your house when you lock yourself out B)

  2. I wanted to let readers know that I spoke to Lee Nalley (President/Owner) of GA Petroleum Co., Inc. This is the company in charge of the construction of the Panter site. He provided me with some information in regards to the safety measures being taken at the fueling station. By law they are required to meet all current laws and restrictions. He is a member of a group that holds monthly meetings where the EPA and EPD can come and inform them of the latest guidelines. Currently the 13 counties of Metro Atlanta are required by law to recover all vapors from gasoline. This site will have a vapor recovery system that will include the tanker trucks that deliver the fuel. After delivery the tankers capture the underground vapors in the tank and return them to their filling point. The Panter site will be above state recommended guidelines. It will have double wall piping and the tank will also be double walled. There is also a spill alarm system and a containment system. He said I could be reassured that this site would be 110% safe. He has been installing such systems for 35 years and said they have indeed come a long way.

I wish the BOE could have provided us with this information prior to construction or better yet asked if we wanted it adjacent to the playground. :(

  3. Unfortunately this is how our government has chosen to operate: Wait until an accident happens and then react. Which is the very words that were said by Mr. Sanchez of the State Environmental Health Dept. OSHA has said they have no jurisdiction that they handle employer/employee only. They did asked to be contacted if postings were not made about the open ditches.

There are several post on the school vent and school groups concerning this. The parents nor residents of this community were not informed prior to construction. Could it be that they didn't want us doing our own investigation into the hazards of such fueling stations? The NRDC has done multiple studies on the effects of school bus exhaust and children. The effects of gasoline/diesel vapors even in low amounts are asmtha, cancer children, adults and unborn children. (Several teachers at Panter are pregnant).

There are several people investigating this and all are getting the run around. Maybe all of the concerned citizens who really want what is best for our children should come together and share what we've found.

Can the PTA call a meeting with parents, principals and BOE and builders of this site? :excl:

There will be gasoline there as well. I've been told the deputies will be using this station as well. The bid from the BOE of June 13 requested #2diesel, 87 Octane, 89 Octane
