  1. I know I am a little late in responding to this, but here goes.

It is my understanding that you CANNOT declare bankruptcy on a court judgment/order. I would be talking to an attorney before I assumed that he was not liable for the money, even though he shut down the business. It seems like you should be able to do something to him.

  2. I'm glad you started this thread. I had a guy parked like that in the Wally World parking lot (in AL) towed this evening. Wish I could've waited around to see his expression when his beautiful, brand-new Tahoe wasn't there.

I'm just glad this Wally World will actually tow the vehicle. Ain't nothing like hearing **Attention shoppers: there is a white Tahoe parked out front blocking cars. Please move your car.** Then five minutes later: * Attention: would the owner of the white Tahoe please report to the service desk? We have a receipt you will need in a little while.**

  3. I was afraid that the Four-Legged Friendzy wouldn't get much traffic, so I'm posting this to both places. I have no internet at the house right now and apologize for the delay in getting this posted.

I found a solid white, small, long-haired dog on Saturday morning. I believe it is a West Highland Terrier. Male, not very old, very friendly. He was wandering Camberley Park neighborhood - at the front of the 'hood near Old Cartersville Road. I put him on my front porch in view of the road and kept him there for several hours hoping someone would come looking for him, but nobody did.

We were forced to take him to the animal shelter Saturday just before noon. He was wearing a distinctive collar but had NO TAGS.

If you think you know who this dog belongs to, please have them check with Paulding County Animal Shelter to claim him. I am certain he misses his family.

If you are concerned that this may be your missing dog, PM me with a description of the collar and I will confirm/deny for you.

  4. Oh holy cow. If any of y'all have been to Crichton, then you would understand. Them folks is nuts. The lady in the car hit the nail on the head.

I hate when they air this kind of stuff. It only makes the rest of us Mobilians look like backwoods idiots.

"Yo, I want to know where the gold at..."

  5. soccermom, I think you'll be okay hosting the party.

Your daughter hangs out with a good group of kids, so just limit the party to the people you know. Be prepared to make the others leave (if they show up). Have everyone limited to the back yard and house. No running in and out. You'll be fine.

  6. Your artist did a totally fantastic job! I have a close friend who owns a tattoo shop. We hang out there lots, so I've seen my fair share of designs from many different artists all over the country. I don't think I've EVER seen one that hits me like this one does!

    TOTALLY. AWESOME. TOTALLY. LOVE. IT.

Rio - they are shiny because the tattoo-er puts a coating of either petroleum jelly or tattoo goo on it when they are finished. You need to keep a new tattoo kinda moist for the first few days to allow it to heal properly.

  7. I'm sorry that I can't tell you whether the mom will take him back or not. What I can tell you is this:

My dog was bottle-fed from day one. I know it seems like forever, but that six/eight weeks will fly by. Look at this from the view that this is a chance for you to make a real difference for this pup. Take the time to enjoy this baby. I used feeding time as a bonding time with mine.

Hang in there. PM me if you need help or advice or just plain comfort. I've been through it, so I may be able to help.

  8. We'll be throwing stuff at folks.

For Mardi Gras. Saturday is going to be taking in the parades in downtown Mobile and hanging out with friends. Then Sunday will be our parade. DH and I both ride (him on horseback and me on a float). Our ball is Sunday night. Lots of partying and carrying on.

  9. I'm in South Alabama this week. The local paper this morning said three of the four major channels are switching on Tuesday. Period. They stated it would be stupid to cater to the 17% of the population that did not have the converter boxes. I expect there to be lots of unhappy Obamanese here next week.

I'll be headed out for popcorn later tonight so I can enjoy the fireworks Tuesday. And I wonder which station will be protested upon first.

  10. Blocked - My dog is a Jack Russell/Beagle/Blue Tick Hound mix. If you were wondering whether my dog is aggressive or not, he wasn't until that night. Now he won't let any other dog near him or me. Not even the ones he grew up with. We used to be able to take him to our friends' homes to play with their dogs, but that has had to stop too.

LabMom - I was so shaken by what occurred that I did not have enough wits about me to get her tag number. I was more interested in assessing the damage done to my dog. A couple of owners that frequent there are on friendly terms with us (we know their first names and dogs names kind of friendly). I spoke to them the next night and they have been watching the park to see if she shows back up. I reported it as best I could the next day, but as you can imagine, without a tag number there is little that can be done.

After having been through it, I can honestly say IT AIN'T WORTH IT. I always thought that because he got along with everyone (human and canine), that we would never have a problem with him being involved in a fight. I mean, he always ran to me whenever it looked like something was going on between the other dogs. This fight was unprovoked and instant. There was no time to react by either owner. I just got lucky in that the bloodhound caught him on the back side of the neck and not the underside. The vet says that is the only thing that kept him from dying that night.

I still wake up to nightmares of him being attacked.

  11. Pitner Rd Dog Park is a nice facility, BUT I must warn you - the owners that take their dogs do NOT always watch them. Or know what they are doing. Or care.

My dog ended up at the emergency vet after a bloodhound tried to kill him. My dog's attitude has definitely changed since that day - and not for the better. He is no longer the sweet baby he was prior to that incident. The other owner made a comment that day that leads me to believe that her dog had done this before and then she left as fast as she possibly could. Why she took her dog to the park is BEYOND me.

We will no longer visit ANY dog park because I can't allow him to be put into that sort of situation again.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
