I think next year we will travel it. We were interviewed by 2 news stations and we have a poster (still have it) with all the states who came through my brother-in-laws sisters yard.......24 states!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was AMAZING!
you should take a picture of the poster and post it so we can see!!!

Have the TIMES editors lost it or what? Guess they figure it's not bad enough yet. We need to go back to home farming.
Like I really am going to worry about their economies? They sure haven't been worrying about ours!!!
And I'm sure they were going to give us that oil at a discount... NOT. I'll have just as much concern for their problems as they have had for ours.... that is to say NONE.
And I'd cry my eyes out for both of them.....
So, what ya think? If oil prices keep dropping, should we send tax money to Iran and Venezuela to help them out??
SG
NO WAY!!!!! I have always and will always think that we need to take care of things at home, and stop sending money to other countries who hate us anyway......I could care less how this effects them......Sorry....I'm just really sick of it all!!!

Praise God!!! So glad to hear that he will recover. He and his family will be in our prayers. Hopefully he will find a terrific counselor to help him through this and get on the right track again.

Consider yourself lucky if today was the first time you've seen an adult sucking their thumb! I work in Atlanta and onthe way home, at least once a week, I see at least one adult (almost always a female for some reason) sucking her thumb! Sometimes in a car with her kids in back. It grosses me out. I have even seen a grown woman not only sucking her thumb, but rubbing the top of her nose at the same time. I've seen babies do this but never a grownup until then. That is so nasty!!!
How gross!!!!

I was annoyed at first, but now I'm really annoyed since I saw some of the hideous waste they spend my tax dollars on!!!!!!! Some of the "programs" don't seem legitimate to be included in a bailout of any type!!!
-
Congratulations!!! It's such an awesome feeling, isn't it???

That sounds good to me.....We need to take care of things here at home to make sure we are strong and stable. I have empathy for other countries, but enough is enough!!!
It's obvious Congress doesn't care about us. They are calling the Wall Street failure fix a "rescue". It's still a "bailout" because taxpayers funds are being used. Put lipstick on the bill but it's still a pig. Once the bill is signed by Bush, he should fire Secretary Paulson. It was too obvious he was trying to protect Wall Street and wanted to add a section in the bill that said no one could challenge where he put the funds. Let the Assistant Treasury Secretary fill in until the end of his term. Whether Paulson is fired now or leaves at the end of his term it is obvious he will be a Wall Street CEO again.Obtaining funds to support the "financial rescue" could come from other sources. It may seem extreme but what about stopping all foreign aid temporarily. I know a lot of countries rely on us to support their country. Another source is start calling in all loans from foreign countries. Did Russia and Great Britain ever repay us for the World War II debts? Finally, stop paying monies to the UN for five years. We all know a lot of UN funds go to third world countries that hate us. Let Russia, China and Venezuela carry the burden for a while.

I watched the whole episode and I don't know if I'll watch it again. I just didn't like it at all.....Weak story lines...
Ok, so what do you think so far??? -
I'm not suspecting it will get too tall since we have not had rain in the past two weeks and none is in the forecast for this week!!!! LOL!!!
You know, I understand it will eventually get better, but in the meantime I wonder how tall my grass will get... -
You will be in our thoughts and prayers. I hope and pray everything works out well for you and your family and that the help you need comes quickly.
Where to start? Our 14 year old son is very angry and is starting to get very violent. I am his step-dad and married his mother 2 years ago. Early on in his life his real father had been in and out of his life which has left a scar on his life. Since I have been in the picture things have gone from what I thought was just normal adolescent behavior to severe anger and now violence. He will not obey any house rules, do any chores, constantly fights with his 12 year old brother, and cusses his mother like only you would hear in a movie. He has like (Shans daughter from an earlier post) started to do eraser burns on his hands. He will go from being a perfectly loving happy child to extreme anger in an instant for something as little as asking him to get off the phone. That sometimes more often than not results in screaming, yelling, cussing, hitting walls, ripping fixtures off the walls, kicking furniture, threatening to hurt his mother, and the list goes on and on. Early on about a year ago before it got this bad I called the cops on him one night to have them come out and scare him. They came out put him in cuffs and did the scare tactics on him and let him know what would happen if he continued to act that way. He has continued to act that way and has become worse. He has been in and out of therapy since he was seven years old. One therapist told us not to take it that we should go and file unruly charges on him. We did not want to get the courts involved and thought we could just handle it on our own. It came to the point one morning before school that I ended up going to the sheriffs office and filed unruly charges on him. He has since gone through the courts and has been put on informal probation. He was ordered to go through a super program, take anger management classes, and go through counseling. He is still going through anger management and is currently going through counseling. He has not taken any of it seriously. He continues to get worse. There was an episode about two weeks ago when his mother took the phone and computer away from him for smarting off and he went off in a terrible rage saying he was going to kill himself and that he wanted to go to the hospital. That went on for a couple of hours screaming and yelling. He kept saying he wanted to go to the hospital, so I picked up the phone and dialed 911 and instantly he ripped the phone out of the wall. The call went through and the cops showed up and he was a perfect angel. It just happened to be the same cop that came to the house the last time and he explained to him again what was going to happen to him if he continues. He did take him to the hospital because under Georgia law anyone who threatens suicide must be escorted to the emergency room. He was evaluated that night and released the same night. His mother is very against taking the route of the law and will not send him to YDC. I however don't see any other option since nothing is working, but I do have respect for my wife's wishes and will continue to try all other options. He is starting to do bad in school and doesn't care at all about school or his future. He also has just recently started dipping. We found out when his mother overheard a phone conversation about him dipping. He has since been busted twice this week. No punishment or consequences does a thing to change his attitude. We are working with a family counselor that his mother and I like very much but unfortunately he does not care. We are at a loss and don't know what to do. Please anyone offer any and all advice and Please Pray For Us! -
It supposedly happened this afternoon around 3ish. Or is there a way to look up the signal calls that have gone out to the deputies, like in the past 12 hours?

Schools may be prohibited from getting early August start

I still and will always think that we should go further into June. And then start in late August since this is GEORGIA and AUGUST is our hottest month and it would take more money to keep the schools cooler, and I'm obviously no expert, but I just feel that school buses use more fuel in hotter weather.
