I am not trying to tell anyone how to do their job, as a citizen of paulding co. I can only hope and pray that our firefighters have the knowledge and equipment to get their job done. I have always had a high respect for our firefighters. Now with that being said, I still dont understand why some people can burn large truck loads of yard debre and be able to call it a rec. fire. Must have been one big cook out, I
guess the tires being burnt was flavoring.

Dallard,
I agree with you, just leave it like it is, a beautiful field.
But we both know that is not going to happen, unfortunely.

heyward,
Thanks for the reply. This situation had me confused as to what the rules are for the burnban. Thanks again.

IS PAULDING CO. UNDER A BURN BAN OR NOT??
If we are under a burn ban, then why was station 5 called to a fire on 61 south and did nothing about it, because the people at the residence said it was a recreational fire and it would be out before they went to bed, so station 5 went back in service and left.
This makes no sense to me! I thought the burn ban meant NO OUTSIDE BURNING OF ANY KIND! anyway, even when we are not under the ban, fires have to be out by dark. And just for the record this is not the first "recreational fire" at this location. I still do not see how station 5 missed it on May27, since it was a larger fire. Just makes you wonder when our firemen cannot tell the difference between
a recreational fire and a brush fire.
I am not trying to attack the fire dept. just shocked at how this was handled.

Chairman, Excuse me for a suggestion that is illegal in Georgia. Not everyone knows about a school impact fee. You need to keep in mind we all are not in politics, but we still care about whats going on and we do have an opinion. Now, back to my point, I am concerned for the kids trying to get an education in an over crowded school because the builders can put up subdivisions so fast but it takes schools so long to try to catch up. The builders get rich and the children suffer. I hate to see this keep happening in a community and county that I care so much about.

Garden Ridge was my reason for going to Douglasville also. I heard a huge movie theater was coming to Hiram. I thought they had already broke ground for it.

I just read in the paper about more rezoning in the New Ga. area at The Georgian Resort Parkway, SR61 and Townsend Rd. More houses and office retail center. With the subdivision at the Georgian and the new subdivision on SR61, how is New Ga. school going to handle all these new kids? Developers and Builders should be made to put so much money aside to finance new schools when their new subdivisions cause over crowding in our schools. Just my 2 cents worth, anybody agree?

when did they close the Garden Ridge store in Douglasville? I love that store. Dont get down there to often, but they had some neat stuff.

Ken I totally agree! I am glad to see you know a difference. Paulding County needs someone that knows the difference.
I love your idea of a townhall meeting. The public needs to be informed of what is going on.
Thank you for keeping on top of everything.

I agree that the proper term is "gonnabe" not "wannabe". Gangs are here in Paulding. Some say they are not the "real" ones, but a gang is a gang. Everything has a beginning.

Let's just remember, there are the parents out there that are active in their child's life and do raise them right, and the child will still make bad decisions. You can't always blame the parents, although a lot of times you can, there are still the goods ones out there.
Just remember, parents need the support of the school system and the SO. Everyone should work together, if one is weak or does not enforce the law/rules, all others suffer. Mainly our children!
