Sarah Ann Atha, age 62, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born on July 22, 1956 in Birmingham, AL, to the late Annie and Emory Crews, Jr. Mrs. Atha was a nurse for Wellstar Healthcare for 45 years. She loved working in the emergency room, and comforting those in need. She was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. As well as working as a nurse, she spent her time as a Crafts and Event Coordinator. Mrs. Atha was a loving wife and mother to her cats; Charlie and Sydney.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bruce Atha of Hiram, GA, sister, Nancy (David) Jordan of St. George, UT, and brother, Danny (Vickey) Crews, Sr. of Chattanooga, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Atha will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. She will lie in state at the church before the service from 1:30 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made in Mrs. Atha’s name to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
