Hugh W. Beavers, age 97, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born on June 29, 1920, in Dallas, GA, to the late George Wallace & Servanner Elizabeth Wood Beavers, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Louise Leggett Beavers, one brother, and three sisters. Mr. Beavers was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II under General Patton where he fought in Normandy, Omaha Beach, Sicily, North Africa and Germany. Hugh was awarded the Legion of Honor from France on June 4, 2015 and also awarded a Purple Heart. He retired in January 1980 from International Harvester after 30 years of service and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church where he served as Deacon since 1956 and Treasurer for 41 years.

Survivors include sons, Richard and Fran Beavers of Cartersville, GA, Charles and Paula Beavers of Dallas, GA, Lewis and Fonda Beavers of Dallas, GA, and Phillip and Phyllis Beavers of Dallas, GA; eight grandchildren, Terri and Dennis Underhill of Dallas, Bammie and Michael Whitaker of Hiram, John Beavers of Dallas, Misty and Stephen Weaver of Dallas, Adam & Shay Beavers of Dallas, and Amy and Jonathan Culpepper of Dallas, Kim and Bob Harrison of Woodstock, and Dan and Mandy Gastineau of Marietta; great grandchildren, Tori and Joshua Moses of Villa Rica, Brooke Whitaker of Hiram, Sydney Weaver, Emma Weaver, Ryker Beavers, Allyn Beavers, Bryson Beavers, Hudson Beavers, Davis Culpepper, Cason Williamson, Jake Williamson, Gracie Dudley, and Canaan Dudley all of Dallas, Bobby Harrison of Woodstock and Josie Gastineau of Marietta; great-great grandchild, Skylar Moses of Villa Rica; and sister-in-law, Pauline Beavers of Mableton, GA. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 3 PM, from Pine Ridge Baptist Church, with Brother Scott Thomas and Chaplain Keith Guyton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. John Beavers, Adam Beavers, Michael Whitaker, Stephen Weaver, Dennis Underhill, and Jonathan Culpepper will serve as pallbearers. The Deacons of Pine Ridge Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 10, 2017, from 4 PM until 8 PM.

Hugh and Lena Beavers, will forever have a place in my heart. They were a very special couple and I will never forget them. Our Condolences and Prayers go out to the Families. We shall meet again!!
