Clark Funeral Home Posted June 12, 2017 Report Share Posted June 12, 2017 (edited) Roy Byars, age 87, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017. He was born on February 6, 1930, in Cartersville, GA, to the late Warren Monroe & Mary Lelar Byars and was preceded in death by his daughter, Tara Regina Byars, six sisters and one brother. Mr. Byars worked as machine operator for Pandal Chemical Company for 22 years, and was a member of Tabernacle of Father in Douglasville, GA, where he served as an elder. Survivors include wife of 61 years, Geraldine Byars of Dallas, GA; sons, Roy McKenny& Sandra Byars of Douglasville, GA, and Paul & Wanda Byars of Dallas, GA; daughters, Debra Diane Everidge of Dallas, GA, and Sharon & Guy Geyer of Dallas, GA; sister, Elinice Byars of Cartersville, GA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Stanley Flowers and Kenny Byars officiating. Interment will follow in Miller’s Chapel Cemetery in White, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 4 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Mrs. Geraldine Byars to assist in the purchase of a headstone for Mr. Byars.
