Marie Buchanan, age 42, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County), passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. She was born on August 16, 1972, in Villa Rica, GA, and was preceded in death by her father, James McDonald, SR. Marie was employed by Home Depot in Powder Springs. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and helping others.

Survivors include husband, Randall Buchanan of Douglasville, GA; son, Stephen Elijah Searcy of Kennesaw, GA; step-children, Courtney Nicole Buchanan of Smyrna, GA, and Nicholas James Randall Buchanan of Powder Springs, GA; mother, Jane McDonald of Dallas, GA; brother, James O. & Kimberly McDonald, JR, of Douglasville, GA; sisters, Connie Williams of Union City, GA, and JoAnn & Carlos Lindley of Union City, GA; mother-in-law, Essie Jones & Kenny Rehfeldt of Douglasville, GA; sister-in-law, Winnie & Scott Buchanan of Douglasville, GA; Marie was Mimi to Charlie Rose Deen, Bowen “BoBo” Allen Deen, and Greysyn Oliver Deen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Starkie and Reverend Thomas Blagg officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

This makes me sad and I have no idea who she was. I just know the pain of losing someone you love so suddenly and unexpectedly. I think of her and her family making plans for the holidays having no idea of the tragedy that they could never see coming. It's horrible and sad and I hate it for anyone. RIP.
