Davidbond1966
HR 1599 creates the House Study Committee on the Georgia Alcoholic Beverage Code. Currently, there are undefined terms, outdated terminology, obsolete provisions, and inconsistent references in the Georgia Alcoholic Beverage Code. The study committee will be composed offive members. The committee will study and review the conditions, needs, issues, andproblems related to the Georgia Alcoholic Beverage Code.Rep. The committee will study the effects of the extracts and compounds of cannabis as a medical treatment to determine if it is appropriate to enact legislation that will allow for the prescription of medical cannabis. The committee is composed of ten members.Rep. Allen Peake, Co-ChairmanSen. Renee Unterman, Co-ChairmanSen. Dean BurkeSen. Butch MillerSen. Curt ThompsonRep. Rich GolickRep. Micah GravleyRep. Margaret KaiserI must ask, will these committees look at the medical implications and published findings of alcohol and cannabis, the economic and social repercussions, and the effects that changing such laws for medical cannabis and alcohol will have on the Georgia society at large, as well as see what these affects have in other states already, or will their recommendations and findings be based on whatever cannabis and alcohol lobbyists give to each of their campaign coffers?
