Mr. Lester Robert “Ray” Haney, age 57, of Dallas, Georgia,passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Windy Hill Hospital.

 

 

 

Ray was born on October 7, 1955, to loving parents the lateMr. Raymond Robert Haney and Mrs. Nellie Jean Belcher Haney. He was also preceded in death by one sisterMs. Melinda Haney, and his wife of 25 years Mrs. Debra Lee Haney who passed in2011.

 

 

 

Mr. Haney was self-employed as a contractor in the concretebusiness. He served in the United StatesArmy. He was an honorary member of theSheriff’s Association in Powder Springs and served as their Chaplain. He enjoyed building guitars, riding horses,spending time with family. He loved tominister to people and was a licensed and ordained minister.

 

 

 

Ray is survived by one son Mr. & Mrs. Patrick (Janet)Haney of Gainesville, GA; one step-daughter Ms. Jessica Shutley of Dallas, GA;nine grandchildren Little Man of Dallas, GA, Anthony Christian Haney ofDouglasville, GA, Hannah Kelly Haney of Douglasville, GA, Elizabeth Haney ofCobb County, GA, Daniel Haney of Douglasville, GA, Tyler Haney of Gainesville,GA, Zack Kelly of Dallas, GA, Logan Kelly of Dallas, GA, and Caleb Kelly ofDallas, GA; three sisters Mrs. Deborah Foster of Dallas, GA, Mr. & Mrs.William (Jeanne) Hanie of Canton, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Will (Kay) Guernsey ofMissouri; three brothers Mr. Curtis Haney of Arkansas, Mr. & Mrs. Jack(Gail) Haney of Florida; and Mr. & Mrs. Tony (Debra) Haney of Douglasville,GA; several nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Haney will be held in the Chapel ofJeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2 pm with Reverend TonyHaney officiating. The followinggentlemen will serve as pallbearers Patrick Haney, Tyler Haney, Mark Foster,J.P. Foster, Wes Foster, Isaac Hanie, Anthony Haney and Rodney Wilbanks. Interment will follow at Mozley MemorialGardens.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home onFriday, May 31, 2013 from 4 – 9 pm and Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 9 am untilthe funeral hour.
