Michael Lee Gunter (Mike), age 65, of Dallas, passed away Friday May 03, 2013. Mike was born July 15, 1947 in Madera California to Hershel Paul Gunter and Allie Ruth Parrish Gunter and was preceded in death by his father; Herschel Gunter, brother; Larry Allen Gunter, sister; Herschella Ann Hollomon.

 

Mike was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from United States Air Force and loved to travel. Mike's belief was: The taste of freedom is something the protected will

never know.

 

Survivors include, mother, Allie Ruth Gunter of Dallas, brothers and sister-in-laws, David Paul & Patricia Gunter, Robert L. & Judy Gunter all of Powder Springs, Ga., and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 3.00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Lamar Rackley and Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with full military honors.

 

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

 

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.

I actually met Mike and worked out with him in cardiac rehab.

 

He had graduated from rehab on Thursday ... and I missed that day. As I understand he died in his sleep early the next morning.

 

He was a funny guy and full of life.

 

We at rehab had a moment of silence for him today. May he rest in peace.
