Clark Funeral Home Posted August 30, 2012 Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Haden Elrod, age 80, of Hiram, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born May 6, 1932, in Pine Log, GA, and was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Andrew Elrod & Melinda White Elrod and daughter, Terri Freeze. Mr. Elrod was retired from Colonial Bakery where he was a route salesman for 30 years and also worked for Elrod Auction Company. He volunteered for Helping Hands for 6 years and WellStar Paulding Hospital emergency room for 11 years. Mr. Elrod was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Millie J. Elrod; son, Richard Elrod of Douglasville, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Sherry & Robert Lee of Douglasville, GA; son-in-law, Jeff Freeze of Hiram, GA; grandchildren, Jonas Elrod, Megan Freeze and Brittney Lee; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Wheeler and Reverend Steve Griggers officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Rockmart, GA, with Robert Lee, Jeff Freeze, Steven Love, Mike Ferguson, Sam Elrod, Ken Graham, Elliott Hawthorne and Jackie Camp serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Clemmons Strickland, Allen Pearson, R. L. Robinson, Butch Porter, Buck Scoggins, Roger McCommons and Doug Alsobrook. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: WellStar Paulding Hospital, ATTN: Volunteer Auxiliary, 600 W. Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132.
