Clark Funeral Home Posted October 4, 2011 Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Marvin Edwin Locklear, age 70, of Dallas, GA, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He was born in Aragon, GA, March 27, 1941, and was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Marvin Locklear & Beatrice Inez Locklear, sister, Betty Joan Brown, and brothers, Charles Locklear, Bobby Locklear, Ray Locklear, Leon Locklear and James Locklear. Mr. Locklear was retired from Rosenthal Metal Company, as a supervisor, after 43 years. He then worked for 5 years as a monitor on a special needs bus for the Paulding County Board of Education. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sadie Swift Locklear; daughters & son-in-law, Rebecca Ann & Carey Canup of Dallas, GA and Patricia Lynn Locklear of Dallas, GA; brother, Cliff Locklear of Statesboro, GA; sisters & brother-in-law, Dorothy Faye Baxter of Rockmart, GA, and Amy & George Wright of Dallas, GA; grandchild, Jessica Lynn Canup; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Larry Parish officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens, with Doug Swift, Randy Akins, Roddy Austin, Kim Curl, Timmy Johnson and David Locklear serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Sikorski, James Owenby, Dwayne Crider and Ronald Locklear. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
