Happy Labor Day from Childrens Dentistry of West Cobb

Recommended Posts

Ollie and Dr. B and Childrens Dentistry Staff of West Cobb want to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day!

Did you know that labor Day celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers? This symbolizes the strength, prosperity and well-being of our nation. Ollie thought it would be fun to share some fun history facts instead of dental facts this week:

The first labor day was celebrated in September 5th, 1882 by the Central Labor Union of New York City. Oregon was the first state to make it an official holiday. In 1894, President Grover Cleveland deemed it a national holiday among all states. Labor Day is also symbolic for the end of summer. In most states Labor Day is the beginning of the new school year. Labor Day is also known to be the last day it is fashionable for women to wear white.

Ollie's favorite thing to do on Labor Day is to have a Octo-cue with his family. What is your favorite thing or tradition to do on Labor Day?

I would like to know what you charge for a one surface filling (Occ/buccal on #30) My pedo office tried to charge $199 for a ONE SURFACE, which I know is WAY over usual & customary b/c I have years of dental experience! My general dentist charges $58 for a one surface. Do you do amalgams or only composites? I think I will be looking for a new pedo office before they are due for their next recall.

Our charge for a 1 surface composite is approx. $158.00. That doesn't always mean insurance companies allow that though and we are contracted with many insurance companies. We do try and stick with composites fillings, but amalgams are less expensive but more invasive into the dentin of the tooth. Dr. B does do both amalgams and composites depending on whats best for the child. But by your post is looks like it actually could be a two surface (occ/buccal)? Two surface composites are $182.00. Lets us know if we can be of any help. Thanks, Kellie
