Clark Funeral Home Posted August 8, 2011 Report Share Posted August 8, 2011 William Henry Harter, age 79, of Hiram, GA, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011. He was born January 6, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late, William Henry Harter, Sr. and the late, Bertha Bower Harter. Mr. Harter was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Air Force and the U. S. Navy. He retired as a tractor trailer driver. Mr. Harter was a member of the Living Hope Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joan Broadwood Harter; daughter & son-in-law, Dianne Jean Murphy & husband, Bill of Acworth, GA; brother, Robert Harter of New Jersey; sisters, Eleanor Barnes of New Jersey and Joyce McLaughlin of New Jersey; grandchildren, Christopher Francis Murphy and Kayleigh Audri Murphy; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11:00 AM, from Georgia National Cemetery, with Pastor John Schubert officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: American Heart Association, P. O. 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384.
