bensonfh Posted July 15, 2011 Report Share Posted July 15, 2011 Sarah Bailey, age 80, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Mrs. Bailey's family will receive friends at Benson Funeral Home in Dallas, GA on Saturday, July 16 from 10 am to noon. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. Sarah was born in 1930 in Heard County during the great depression. Her parents were tenant farmers. Sarah worked in a textile mill while her future husband, Bobby, went to college. They married after graduation, loaded everything in the car and headed to Akron, Ohio where they lived for one year. Then they returned to Marietta where they have lived for 55 years. Sarah was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband Bobby of 56 years. Other surviving family include a son, Chester Bailey, a daughter, Pam Karr, two grandchildren Courtney Karr, Shelby Karr, and three step grandchildren Kaitlin Jones, Lee Coblentz, and Nicholas Coblentz.
