Mrs. Cortez Parson age 95 of Hiram Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at her home.

 

 

 

Mrs. Parson was born on October 11, 1915 in Marietta, GA to beloved parents the late Mr. Jervis Hopkins and Mrs. Beulah Clay Hopkins. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Sam Parson who passed away in 1992; one son Mr. Gene Parson who passed away in 1997; and one sister Mrs. Veolia Brown who passed away in 2009.

 

 

 

Mrs. Parson was a homemaker. Her family was her greatest delight and she looked well to the ways of her household. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking. She was a member of Milford Baptist Church in Austell, GA. Mrs. Parson was well respected and loved by many; she will be missed by all who knew her.

 

 

 

Mrs. Parson is survived by one daughter Mr. & Mrs. James (Sandra) Lee of Hiram, GA; one son Mr. Bobby Parson of Tignall, GA; one daughter in law Mrs. Ruth Parson; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, two nieces, one sister Mrs. Dollie "Dot" Jarrett of Commerce, GA; as well as other beloved friends.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Cortez Parson will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11 am with the Reverend Todd Chatham officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden. Serving as pall bearers will be Ronnie Parson, Craig Parson, Robert Parson, Jeff Lee, Stacey Lee, and Kenneth Parson. Interment will follow at Flint Hill United Methodist Church.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 4 – 9 pm and Friday, June 10, 2011 from 9 – 11 am.
