FreeBird
From the ATC: Georgia A.T. Plate Sales Reach 900 Help Us Reach 1000! Mount Katahdin is in sight! The thru-hike is almost over! Georgia residents have submitted 900 applications for the specialty Appalachian Trail license plate. Only 100 more are needed to reach the magic number of 1,000. If you have already ordered your plate, thank you. Help us reach our goal by talking up the plate with your friends and hiking companions. Mention it to fellow hikers you meet this fall along the trail, at trailheads, and at outfitter stores. If you have not purchased a plate, the time is now! The tag will be a visible endorsement for the Appalachian Trail and for all trails and all hikers in Georgia . October 31 is our goal to collect the needed 1,000 applications. This date will allow us ample time to submit the paperwork to the Georgia Department of Revenue for certification, and to prepare the legislation for tag approval and revenue sharing for the 2011 session of the Georgia Legislature, convening in January. Now is the time for the final push – get us over the top! Thanks for your support. Here is the application: http://www.appalachiantrail.org/atf/cf/%7BB8A229E6-1CDC-41B7-A615-2D5911950E45%7D/GA%20A.T.%20Plate%20App-Complete.pdf Print it out, and send the completed form along with $25 to us: Appalachian Trail Conservancy PO Box 807 Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 Visit http://www.appalachiantrail.org/galicenseplate for more information.
