Mrs. Henrietta H. Blackmon age 79 of Dallas, Georgia passed away at Piedmont Hospital on June 14, 2010. She was born on April 21, 1931 in Cartersville, Georgia the daughter of the late John Gordon Hite and Sally Isabelle Hazelwood. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, C. L. Blackmon who passed away on February 25, 2004. Henrietta loved cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandson. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

 

 

 

Mrs. Henrietta Blackmon is survived by 2 daughters &1 son in law, Nancy & Tony Oliver of Villa Rica, Ga., Tersia Cantrell of Dallas, Ga.; son & daughter in law, Marvin & Patricia Blackmon of Dallas, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, & 3 great great grandsons; 3 sisters & 1 brother in law, James & Mary McGinnis of Dallas, Ga., Catherine Rakestraw of Dallas, Ga., Shirley Griffin of Cartersville, Ga.; daughter in law, Cathy Blackmon of Dallas, Ga.; son in law, Ricky Dutton of Dallas, Ga.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. L. Blackmon; son, Charles “Snuffy” Blackmon; daughter, Patricia Dutton; father & mother, John Gordon & Sally Isabelle Hite; sisters, Johnnie Bell Osburn & Thouella Abernathy; & son in law, Allen Cantrell.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Henrietta Blackmon will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 2pm at Crossroads Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Turner officiating. Music will be provided by Charles Pruely, Carolyn Pruely,& Jeff Eberhart. Pall bearers will include Daymond Morgan, Tim Gable, Jamie Blackmon, Todd Mathis, DeWayne Cantrell, and Jason Cantrell. Interment will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 16 from 1PM until 9PM, Thursday June 17 from 9AM until leaving in procession for the church at approximately 1:30 PM.
