Clark Funeral Home Posted November 4, 2009 Report Share Posted November 4, 2009 David Couey, age 64, of Dallas, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was born December 1, 1944 in Charlotte, NC, to James Edward Couey and the late, Lillie Belle Moore. Mr. Couey was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lyn N. Couey; father, James Edward Couey of Charlotte, NC; son, Harley Couey of Hiram, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Heather & Rodney Porter of Cartersville, GA and Heidi & Billy Taylor of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Brittany Smith, Billy Wayne Taylor, II, Brent Taylor, Tyler Porter and Trent Porter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 11:00 AM, from Hope United Methodist Church, with Reverend Frank Bernat, Pastor Steve Griggers and Reverend Dale Shields officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope United Methodist Church Hands of Hope, 1970 Marietta Highway, Dallas, GA 30157 or Smyrna United Methodist Church Sunday School, 9199 Buchanan Highway, Dallas, GA 30157.
